No shotguns allowed

Post by BillyBoBBizWorth » 17 Jul 2018, 18:49

He could of done us a favor and banned the M39? No, had to choose the shotgun, bad move amigo.

Image

I wanted to see if anyone else wanted to discuss that round on big red we just had where the CO tried to ban shotguns and then, well, you know the history.
Theres a current player report about this and im still processing everything that happened that round, let me tell you briefly the things i saw or heard :

There was a TSGT and a half naked marine named Chef Tonia from Naples(i think, i call him Chef Tony) fighting in the small canteen south of medbay, the one with the little kitchen now! This was a highlight.

The XO got his ID pick pocketed during briefing, if you can call that one.

Someone stole the CO's gun.

It truly was a diverse round, even for a fuck up.What were some of your highlights from this round?

"It was a fantastic round. If the CO hadn't cryo'ed before the end I'd have bothered him to give at least two more medals. To PFC Max Dallas, who kept doing the path between the frontlines to FOB (the only place with medical aid) with a roller bed, and saved a lot of marines who'd have husked otherwise. And to Dr. Haley Altman, who after all medics were gone was fixing us time and again for hours straight. At the end there were over 10 patients around her either dead or in crit, and she just kept going."

I spent the first 35 minutes of the round loading shotguns and putting them on the Alamo. I think I managed to deliver at least 40.

Hhahahah! Gold.

I went to the tank elevator to go get the tank, guess what pops up? Its my tanker colleague, which he was all surprised like i caught him with his pants down and all these shotguns around him LOL! He was throwing them off the elevator platform like they were a local pest, i dont even know how the fuck so many got down there so quick.Maybe it was you?

That reminds me, you see all that fucking tank ammo in the LZ, most tank ammo ive ever seen stockpiled in one spot.Too bad the gun got taken out and never repaired.

The Pumpening was a great and terrible time. The level of MP Shittery that round was insane.

Executing half of charlie squad while in their cells, leaving critted marines to die, tasing and dragging away medics trying to revive fallen SLs, THROWING FRAG GRENADES AT BRIGGED PEOPLE, stealing the CO's ID and taking it planetside to frontline with stolen marine gear, the list goes on and on.

The response to every ahelp made against the MPs? IC Issue, Valid, nothing we can do, so on so forth. I guess Alan Whoitswhats and Rex Texas suck mad admin dick in their free time because they got away with so much shit.

Also, admins shouted in ooc that any of the charlies fighting back against their entire squad being BEd by order of the CO would result in a ban. GG

I suggested earlier today that a CO should order all PFCs to carry shotguns.

Instead you maniacs do the exact opposite
That is how you get things done it seems in this community, reverse psycology.

Nothing’s gonna be done about the shit MPs, the reports gonna be closed with an IC issue marking.

Round seems like shit in general, glad I wasn’t there

IC issue? Too bad I was xeno that round. Strength in numbers! Hand becomes the Fist to the MPs' mouths.

The real funny thing was saying things OOC like: "Shotguns is just metagaming, and should be ending now. Continuing in that vein will just lead to bans over metagaming which mentions this as ramboing." and people thought that it was High Command order to ban shotguns.

Medbay was a constant steady stream of breaks, shrapnel, internal bleeding, and organ damage. Strangely enough though, a single infected marine.

A short Recap of events (god I hated this round):

Shotguns are banned
The mistake that started it all, the unfortunate commander issued a ban on shotguns. This led to a massive riot in briefing causing it to be delayed by 10 minutes and eventually no proper briefing occured.

People don't deploy + Mild Mutiny
The CO halts the transport dropship until all of the shotguns are confiscated, leaving squads remaining on the ship or locked in the dropship waiting to be arrested some people started up a basketball game I belive, though charlie had different ideas. The Charlies gathered all the shotguns they had and staged a passive-aggressive raid on the CIC. They pumped their shotguns while swarming the CIC, pushing over the CO all the while. Some marines tied him to a chair with cablecuff and others stole his shoes and mateba. Charlie finally leaves the CIC. After all this, most of the squads deploy at about an hour after round start.

The great war of the brig
A (rightfully) enraged CO orders the entirety of Charlie squad to be arrested for interrogation and proper doling out of justice. I can't imagine why but for some reason Charlie doesn't like this. During this time fighting occurs in the brig and in the end 2 MPs (and probably several marines, I didn't see) were killed. The CO also got decapitated by a bad slug.

Everyone's released
The XO is put in charge and the WO calls for amnesty for all of the prisoners. SOMEHOW AFTER THIS THE MARINES CLUTCHED A DAMN WIN.

Note: This is all going from memory, I am probably incorrect with some precise details but the main plot's there.

Edited, fixing things for historical accuracy.

It didn't happen any multiple firefights at Brig, it was just me fighting with the MPs and it was a slug which took CO life.

Marines did not REFUSE to deploy, the CO prohibited the dropships from launching until ALL shotguns were confiscated. They even ordered the PO to lock the marines in the dropship so security could come in and round them all up. That was the last straw leading to the mutiny.

Good luck with that, considering the CO is a self proclaimed CMP main staff member and the CMP of that round was also a staff member. Rex Texas is fair game though, but I’m staying away from that migraine.

I'm going to be taking it to Staff Reports if actions are not taken. Considering that Grimcad specifically told me to make a player report, I'll be quoting him on this.

You dense motherfucker.

How difficult is it for you to understand that you should not be having the dead COs ID?

Jason Crowmel was dead, no one else is named like that in the shit to have that ID and sure as fuck you shouldnt have his access as an SO nor should the XO use the ID of the dead commander.

Dont come at me with “muh CO ID, i needed it” cause you dont need it. XO has an equivalent of it.

I didnt steal it motherfucker I confiscated it. Its contraband you shouldnt be having. Youre just lucky the WO was goofy blitz that round cause you can apply a contraband charge for that. Hell if we still had the old rules it would be an OOC problem too. Fuck you even pulled a gun at my character.

Which is why I had to run planetside. For the fact that WO’s coduct was disgraceful, one in forgiving people who killed the CO and two MPs, and second for allowing a contraband ID in the CIC then failing to see the problem.

Seriously dude how hard does it have to be to get this shit through to you?

Were it some other time when rules were stricter no one wouldve taken his ID in the first place.

IDs that dont belong to you are contraband or theft (depending on the case) on its own since theyre obviously not yours.

You cry and pour shitton amounts of salt about how I “stole” muuhh CO ID, but you fail to give me a single reason or a single argument on why you need it and why should you be in posession of it in the first place.

Or are just your feelings hurt?

As for admins, I’m on my own just like you. Feel free to make a specific player report on me for this specific incident cause I’d love to see what bullshit you could come up with.

Dude, I dont care if you like MPs or not. Theres certain instructions I have to follow when playing that role. As in that’s the job you chose for that round. If you have a problem with that then your problem is with the existance of marine law not with me. Cause I always try to be correct and fair too whenever I enforce it. You just havnt seen me.

I don’t need to take shit personnal as an MP or whatever. And as a matter of fact I didn’t deliver any punishments for it in the first place. Sinply went in and told the dude about an ID that was illegal for them to have and confiscated it.

Whats so fucking wrong about that?

So you admitted that you confiscated it from a marine and then headed down to the planet?
There's little in Marine Law about the SOP for a MP coming across something that might be considered contraband but:
If illegal items are found, secure them until the search is complete. Should this be impossible, request that another MP assist you by taking the items to Evidence Storage.
and
Search the area for evidence and ensure all evidence is secured.
Restore the searched area to its previous state as closely as possible.
Reopen the area to normal traffic and take all evidence to the brig for processing.
as we can see from the search procedures, all evidence or illegal items should be taken to the evidence locker at the first opportunity. Nothing is said about a MP having the ability to hold on to either contraband or evidence indefinitely .
By failing to place the ID, which was evidence or contraband, in the evidence locker and instead heading down to the surface, you have committed the crime of Possession of Contraband yourself.
Heading down to the surface to fight xenos, considering the amount of unrest on the ship and the lack of a direct command to deploy from the aCO or WO, is a charge of Neglect of Duty. You also left out the part where you dressed up as a marine when you were on the ground, which can be construed as either Theft and Unauthorized Weapon, depending on the circumstances.

There are instructions you have to follow as a MP, but it seem like you only follow them when it suits you. You were quite fine with arresting any and all marines involved with the mutiny, but when the WO gives amnesty to the mutineers you leave your post and go down to the planet to shoot xenos? You fuck off cause you can't baton anymore? Seems like standard shitcurity behavior to me. If you did not want to continue playing the round, there is always the choice of cryo. (a choice that the marines don't always have) If you dislike the WO's actions, take it up with High Command. You admit to breaking marine law and in the same post admonish others for breaking laws, as if you were above it all.

You seem to have forgotten the rule given to MPs, so I'll put it here to remind you:
15. Military Police - All Military Police jobs can never break Marine Law themselves, but they are not required to enforce Marine Law 100% of the time unless ordered by a superior.

CSolaris is right.

Most of the CM Veterans can see the typical pattern.

Step 1. Mod/Admin abuse.
Step 2. Community outcry/reports.
Step 3. Eventual investigation.
Step 4. Proof of abuse/wrongdoing.
Step 5. “Waiting on Manager decision.”
Step 6. The report rots in resolved.

You have the same Moderator in question here (BladeBR) who sent in a unlawful Provost call that resulted in a death squad (filled with Staff, at that) wiping out the marines. Emerald closed the player report and moved it to the Staff Report.

Ironically enough I never received an apology, the CMP Staff member who violated Marine Law multiple ways was never punished, and none of the staff behind the scenes were punished.

This is CM now. Don’t hold out hope that your report will result in anything.

maybe OOC rules in place preventing these sorts of things would be the best to have (like we had before... at least I think)

some people seem to enjoy events/situations like these and approach it with an IC stance on it and make the best out of what they can

others seem to take the situation more seriously than they probably should and start salting OOCly or making player reports or whatever

in my honest opinion, player reports seem to make everything worse and they create an OOC animosity between the person accusing someone of doing something and the accused. similar to how if one of your friends snitched on you when you were little, you'd start to dislike them. i think a better alternative would be to just talk it out tbh, nobody likes to see people arguing and fighting in this community. at least, I know I don't
