Phoron: baystation remnant or important plot point?

Post by GenericUsername » 23 Jul 2018, 21:33

So, phoron (AKA plasma). Currently it's just a material doctors use to make dex+ and other drugs... But what if CM inspired itself on the Nanotrasen lore where phoron is actually a ultravaluable material? Should every high tech thing be phoron related? Should the Company be interested in mining it? Should we add it officially to the lore? Or should it remain as is, a remnant of baystation useful only to make chems?

Discuss.

In my opinion xenos should be linked with phoron that's why WY wants em

It would be interesting and add more things for the CL to strive for.

I learned that you could make walls with it when someone made a bunch on prison. I tried to recreate this experiment next round on the ship, not realizing they were still explosive/ flammable. I got bwoinked for it. Not sure why the ability to do that is still left in the game.

Lore-wise it most certainly is a remnant. Maybe reduce the number of bricks on the ship to the one in the medbay and the CL has to send a lackey to retrieve one from the colony.

That sounds like a glorious way for engineers to use the stacks of phoron that can be found on so many of our maps -- free claymores pretty much.

Unless that rule about not fucking with atmos still applies?

Atmos rule is still around, but I believe they will readd atmos in the future.
