it's just that players hardly ever report minor things that benefit their side.
Uhhh you would be surprised at some of the most stupi...I mean the most fun ahelps we've seen that players have reported other players for doing.

To be honest its something that could've been enforced when the server opened up but my guess was that it wasn't and it was strictly just like a TDM type of thing. I wouldn't even say whitelisted roles are HRP. I would say the whitelisted roles are all currently probably medium RP. Shipside being HRP is a big meme cause you have gang wars of staff like shit such as MTs vs Medbay doctors.
Then you have the XOs or CIC members who name themselves with some meme ass shit such as "Bob Bald" shit like this what would be considered all LRP but you don't see admins and mods enforcing it just due to the fact all the players have grown accostumed to it, there is nothing they can do about it now. Its honestly too late so CM will always be light rp on the ground where the marines are and medium roleplay on the ship and same with the whitelisted roles. Its something you really can't blame the players for or the current staff but merely the predecessors if they wanted a MRP server they would've strayed away from the TDM style ass shit and just kind of make it like Alien Isolation on the colony with the marines being like cardboard boxes but like 4-5 xenos just wreaking havoc and shit.

Part of the issue is that there's so little roleplay in Colonial Marines because, in fairness, there's little room for it in the average gameplay. Most rounds are just TDM from beginning to end for the vast majority of players unless they get into a position where they can roleplay. The result is that more than a few people don't actually associate CM with roleplay and in some cases this applies to the staff as well.

For instance, there was a round that was supposedly set up to be "pure roleplay" that the admin that called it such basically made it revs with CLF: the colonists needed to be evacuated and some were CLF spies, but we weren't told that. As soon as the announcement of the reason why we were there (colonists needing food, water, and evac) went up, most people started acting like they were in the Red Cross: Medbay started making basic medical supplies, most squads and Req started putting together backpacks of food and other supplies... And the CO ordered an FOB would be built at the space port and nobody would be allowed off the planet, no supplies would be provided, anyone who wanted to enter the FOB would be cuffed and searched before being forbidden from leaving, and other stuff. This was after we had to correct the CO who was trying to go on autopilot and just assume the colony was wiped otu or something.

What followed was what you'd expect: Delta, after being put in charge of checking and policing the colonists, basically pulled a gun on them at every opportunity, obviously trying to provoke a fight rather than search for weapons or other things. Eventually someone retaliated and Delta threw a fit, then the XO came down and authorized mass executions of the colonists without provocation, the Synth called Alamo up with survivors on board, and everything fell apart.

The reason why there's no real roleplay in Colonial Marines is because nobody, not even some of the staff, seem to take the MRP claim seriously and people, for some reason, take pride in the fact that they were vindicated for turning a humanitarian situation into "Papers Please: Fascist Edition" when there's no ic reason to do so other than HC goading them to do so.

Don't put all the blame on Delta. I was in Delta, but alone looting Labs when survivor just showed up on my screen and killed me without a word, or anything. I had to A-help that.

I meant the average Delta in the round. Looting the Labs in a humanitarian mission is kinda uncool too, but whatever.

What I'd like to see is, maybe, every week we have a round that's set to last exactly 1-2 hours where nothing's set to happen: benos don't spawn, the dropships aren't there/don't launch, and people just chill on the Almayer. Maybe there'd be a basketball game, or Delta could have recurring D&D games where other people can join in. Maybe we could get a poker tournament going, have some shooting competition, or people could just chill with their squads and talk. Inject some roleplay into the game, you know?

I mean that's still completely out of the line as a supposed HRP CO's announcement, and it's still a reference to the current shitty meme.

Actually RP standards were enforced when the server opened. Metagame and powergaming were heavily punished and the main reasons of most bans/notes. Rambo'ing aswell.

With all due respect, the staff really lost intrest in upkeeping a proper RP level because I suppose they feared loosing players from the harsh rules.

But then, powergaming rule wasn't updated since a year since it deals with what was fixed with ID locks...
And metagame too..
