In all honesty? most peoples nicknames were given to them by their "friends" or by their reputation. The person who gets to choose their own nickname doesn't have friends.

Angel and Devil were both given to me. I changed out of them because there were some shitty players I was getting confused with. They'd look at the nickname and go "Medic, Angel... THAT FUCKWIT" which was upsetting. So I changed, and changed again, and now I'm at Quick Clot, which was also given to me. I like it.

My apologies for not being exact. In real life, nicknames are given, never chosen.

Well... Some choose their own nickname becouse they have a primitive backstory for their character like Cabal does. Getting nickname from something like autistic spinning in briefing is nothing to be proud of.
