Bruce Norris - Mod Application

Post by BruceNorris » 18 Feb 2015, 20:47

Real Name (Optional): Charlie Ford.

Byond ID: Bruce Norris.

Age: 17

Timezone: GMT +0 (London).

Do you have a skype account (yes or no, don't post the account)? Yes.

How many hours are you willing to put in daily to moderate? On a weekday I can usually put in four plus hours of moderation. Fridays and weekends, I can put in anywhere from four to ten hours; depending on if I am working or not/have issues to deal with. I will use most, if not all of my spare time to moderate.

Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)? I do. I used to admin for a Garry's Mod server a year or two ago; I quit because the server shut down due to funding, and in the end I stopped playing Garry's Mod full stop really.

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers? I've been playing Colonial Marines for a fair while now. As far as I can recall I haven't.

Have you had an application to Colonial Marines or New Eden denied before? No.

How you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines, if so, When and Why? Nope!

If a player was shooting everyone in briefing at round start how would you deal with the situation? Well, for starters I would freeze the player; make sure any wounded personnel were dealt with, either by me or the Sulaco Medical staff. I would then pull the player aside to have a chat, asking why he did it. If no reason, or a very poor reason is provided, it would probably be a ban. However if he disconnects to avoid a ban, he would be punished accordingly (Permaban).

You notice that a warrior is breaching the Nostromo for no reason and is unable to seal the breach. How would you deal with this and what punishment would you give for a first offender? First of all, I would seal off the area, to make sure that no other players are harmed. I would then proceed to secure the hull breach and message the player, telling him that hull breaching is against the rules, and that if he does it again he will receive punishment.

There Marines want the Nuke codes, to detonate the Nostromo because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently, 4 aliens, and 20 marines in your /who. What do you do? Seeing the current situation of the Marines, I would deny their request for the nuke disk, and order all Marines back to the Sulaco for a debrief. I would obtain and analyse information about the threat on the Nostromo, and send the squads back in for a coordinated strike.

A Sulaco Medic has made SEVERAL napalm grenades, and hands them out to Marines. One of the marines, throws the grenade into logistics, there are no admins, or other moderators online. What do you do? Message the player asking him why he did that, and not to do it again. Depending on if anyone was harmed, the player would be punished accordingly. For example, if no one was harmed, then he would just receive a warning. If marines/staff were killed it would be a ban, and if he disconnected after killing marines, it would result in severe punishment.

Additional information you'd like to add:
Well, that pretty much sums it up I suppose. I filled it in to the best of my ability and well, used my judgement as best I could. I heard that you guys are in need of staff, and due to my previous admin experience (all be it a different game, and a little while ago), I could have a crack at it. I think that I have what it takes, but in the end that's not my decision.
I just like to pretend I know what I am doing.

Hmmm, not much to say on your response. I think its fine.

Others will think different.

Pretty sure that TZ is busy... but I could be wrong.

Thats not exactly correct for you to do.

You are CC rep., not the Cmdr. You say no, and explain that you see plenty of human life forms on the Sulaco and what not.

Cant freeze players, can Admin Jail when full Mod though.

Perma only when given permission by an admin or higher.

Not much left to say. You dont have any notes, how long have you been playing CM?

And,
You have 22 seconds of air left in your sinking submarine, 3 matches, a loaf of bread, an admin, and a player. How do you spend your final moments?

Abstaining.. if you answer the question above good, 1+

We should also see if we can barrow LLA's staff APP, that shits long and tasty.

Really good for people to go through.

Alright then. Wasn't exactly sure of the whole powers thing, probably should have asked first! And as for the Commander/Nuke question, I assumed it was asking as if I was a commander; again my bad!

Been playing CM for.. Oh god must be getting on 4-5 months now?
As for the loaf of bread matches and a player.....

I would a piece of the bread off and soak it in the water, then, light a match on the side of the sub and stick it into the bread and wear it as a hat, parading around singing 'we all live in a yellow submarine'. I would then begin dancing with the admin and the player, (the twist, of course). As I suffocated, the match would die out, and the soggy bread would fall to pieces, as I fell to the floor.. My final words; I always knew I'd die soggy.... *queue Adagio for Strings*.

Good answer, though I'm not having my judgment depend on a trivial answer.

Neutral.

I've seen you in-game before, but not enough to make an assessment whether you are fit for staff or not.

I'd say around 4-5 months. I don't talk in OOC at all really, tend to keep myself to myself on the server if I am honest. Tend to refresh my RP name every so often too.

Well then. We are greatly in need of Moderators of Europe to be Octagon's slave, and we have a lot, or perhaps, too many moderators watching over America's time.

ACCEPTUNDO!
