Kyrac - Moderator

Post by Kyrac » 05 Apr 2015, 19:48

Real Name (Optional): Kyle

Byond ID: Kyrac

Age: 16

Timezone: Mountain Standard Time

Do you have a skype account (yes or no, don't post the account)?: Yes.

How many hours are you willing to put in daily to moderate?: 1-3 hours on weekdays, and on weekends I'll probably be available beyond that limit.

Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?: Moderator on NSS-Gamers CM, although I never actually was able to perform the duty seeing as how they went down coincidently, Moderator 1 back on BestRP when it was good, and that's it for SS13. On Garrysmod, I was a Super Admin on Precinct 15's HL2RP, a Super Admin on AdventRP's HL2RP, an Admin on Precinct 15's Fallout RP ( And Faction Leader of the Enclave ), Moderator on AlteredRP's HaloRP. This is what I can remember.

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?: Yes, back on NSS - Gamers( One with Daskreesh as Headmod I believe ) and Sulaco Station 13.

Have you had an application to Colonial Marines or New Eden denied before?: No.

Are you staff on another server? If so, what server, and what type of staff?: No.

Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines? If so, when and why?: No.

If a player was shooting everyone in briefing at round start how would you deal with the situation?: I'd put the player into the admin prison and use player panel to quickly revive other players. Whilst this player is in the admin prison, I'd question him. In the end, he'd still most-likely receive that ban he deserves for a duration and I'd call it a void on that whole situation.

You notice that an alien is breaching the Nostromo and is unable to seal it with resin. How would you deal with this and what punishment would you give for a first offender?: I'd explain to this alien what they have done and what rule has been broken. I'd consider this a warning and seal it myself if I had the permissions or ask a higher staff member. I'd also note this player for this action, just so my warning wouldn't be volatile.

The marines want the nuke codes to detonate the Nostromo because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently, 4 aliens, and 20 marines in your /who. What do you do?: Depends on how many are deceased really. But, considering there are 4 aliens, I'd have to return with a central command message denying this request for now. If they requested this later at a point where there were more aliens and a decreased amount of marines, I wouldn't see the nuke as a necessary approach, I'd try to send Heavy Infantry instead; Because it's not necessary to immediately give them the nuke codes without support first.

A Sulaco Medic has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online. What do you do?: This depends on how far the round has gone, and whether or not aliens are on board. If this was early in, I'd definetly begin questioning the Medic who created said napalm grenades. I'd ask why he made them and I'd probably receive a response like," To help the marines when they're on the Nostromo. " I'd warn him that he shouldn't make assumptions just yet. [A]I'd then get to the marine who tossed one of the napalm grenades into logistics. I'd question them next and question why he threw a grenade into logistics; A response I'd probably get would be," Because I'm trying to get assigned." Or, " I misclicked." This marine would be noted and banned for a short time.

If this was late round and aliens were aboard. Then I could definetly understand why the Medic was creating napalm grenades, though even then it may breach an area. About that Marine who threw it into Logistics, I'd most likely repeat line [A].

Additional information you'd like to add: I familiarized myself with most of the administrative tools in Space Station 13.

Gonna go with +1, good answers, although they are weird because it seems people don't know what tools we use, but I like it.

Are you familiar with out rules?

Cause, one of those questions, is a check on that, and you got it wrong...

I am familiar with the rules, there was nothing about breaching in there. My apologies for failing this check, though I suppose I was more adjusted to the previous rule-set.

-1. Too new to the server, too little time to devote to moderating ... I'd say get to make yourself known first. And more than just the server, i mean.

As you may know, I am new to the forums and this probably wasn't the best approach for a new forum user(The posts and join-date make this very evident.). Since the day I joined the forum, I've tried to be as active on it as possible(I pop in at least three times a day and see where a post would be relevant). I'm sorry that the time that I stated I'd be able to put in was sub-par, although it may be prone to change if required.

@Apophis, I see what you mean with the current ratio of Game Admins and Moderators.
