ThePiachu's coder application

Post by ThePiachu » 27 Oct 2018, 05:33

ThePiachu

Age:
31

Gender:
Male

How would you define yourself? (Coder, Mapper, Spriter):
Coder

If Coder, what languages?
Very strong in Google Go / Golang, have done my fair share of coding in C++, Java, C# and others.

Any previous experience developing with SS13?
No, other than reading through some of the leaked code.

Proof of any previous or current work:
https://github.com/ThePiachu - worked on a large open source project between 2015-2017 especially. Involved a lot of code cleanup, developing various new features, optimising, etc.

How well do you know Git?
Pretty well for every day uses. Can pull, push, branch, merge, rebase, etc.

Your primary job is server development, not policing the server. You may be given Moderator-level of access but you should *not* be invoking any administrative actions unless there are no moderators or Admins online. Do you understand? (Yes/No)
Yes

Anything else you'd like to add?
While I might not have a lot of experience working with SS13 code, I believe I can figure it out. Over the past months I have submitted a lot of bugs and suggestions (almost 200 - https://gitlab.com/cmdevs/ColonialMarin ... =thepiachu ). I hope to be able to help work through some of those if I'm accepted as a coder. Things like adding a few more HUD buttons for some useful verbs, fixing minor map bugs (if I ever figure out how to work on maps), or adding persistence to some ghost preferences would probably be the first on the chopping block and a good way for me to learn the code.

I used to use C++ primarily, but then I switched to Go for my master's and it has been my main language from then on.
