Rovernic - Application

Post by Rovernic » 14 May 2015, 19:07

Byond ID: Rovernic

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Timezone: Eastern Standard Time.

On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate?
Depending on the week, 2-3 hours week days. Weekends vary completely.

Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?

I've been an administrator for several different games. I was an admin on for a minecraft server during the earlier days of the game, and held the position for several months. I lost interest once 1.0 came about, and dropped shortly after. I was an admin on one of the severs for Persistent World, a modification for Mount and Blade which once focused around roleplay. I do say once, because the community changed and the role-players gradually left leaving the server to die. I also briefly admined a small SS13 server that was mostly hosted for a group of friends.

Until recently I was an admin on Colonial marines. As such, I am well acquainted with the rules, the procedures, and have some degree of competency with the variable system.

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?
Well Jaggerstep's CM, and then Verbal's and now this one. Oh what a trip it's been.

Have you had an application to Colonial Marines or New Eden denied before?
Nope.

Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where?
Well I have a job, so technically I am a staff member /there/. Otherwise, no not really.

Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines?
No, I once tried to ban myself. Not quite the same though.

If a player was shooting everyone in briefing at round start how would you deal with the situation?
Step one: Kill player.
Step two: Talk to player.
Step three: Link to rules
Step four: Temp ban (unless he has previous notes). Time dependent on degree of offense and level of cooperation with staff.

You notice that a xeno is breaching the Nostromo and is unable to seal it with resin. How would you deal with this and what punishment would you give for a first offender?
Well, since atmos is currently broken, breach seal it immediately. Rules call for a mandatory 24 temp ban, which would need to be duly explained to the player.

The marines want the nuke codes to detonate the Nostromo because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who. What do you do?
Laugh? Tell the marines to do their job, and nut up or shut up. Perhaps provide a scan indicating the number of xenos left over CC updates.
A Sulaco Medic has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online. What do you do?
Step one: Kill air
Step two: Kill him
Step three: Speak to him
Step four: Fix the air through variable edits
Step five: Revive any dead marines/LOs
Step six: Link to Rules
Step seven: A nice long temp ban, unless he has previous notes for grief, than possibly permabaning him. If the later is used, I'd of course make the obligatory thread.

What would you do if a player started to talk about the things he did to your mom last night?
Mute him. If he was really determined to piss off staff, that is grounds for a temp ban via rule 8 of the general server rules. Depends on the situation. Perhaps he simply had tea with my mother. She does brew a lovely tea.

Any additional information you'd like to add?
Not quite.

Answers are ... Meh-worthy ... However,

"Depending on the week, 2-3 hours week days. Weekends vary completely."

I'm -1, honestly.
