Felix Conrad v Sir Lordington - POWER PLAY

Post by Felix Conrad » 02 Jan 2018, 22:22

Your Byond Key: Shadow10

Your Character Name: Felix Conrad

Their Byond key: Sir Lordington

Approximate time and date of the incident (Central Us Time for best results): 3:40am Australian CENTRAL TIME.

Which Staff Protocols (viewtopic.php?f=57&t=5647) were broken: In my eyes all of them.

Description of the incident: Yesterday during the end of a round playing as a Marine the Queen Xenomorph was laughing and telling her hive that she can sit behind the wall and have the sentry gun wasting ammo even calling it a sentry gun and knowing 100% everything it did. She kept doing this over a period and i and others found it to be abusing the wall. Dylan and Sir Lordington then said that it was taking cover and it is something "Marines" should learn to-do. Now my problem with all of this is, that the sentry gun in NO GAME OR LOGICALLY would shoot a piece of wall with a target behind it that it cannot then see, that has nothing to-do with "Marines" learning to take cover, that's a player taking advantage of a game mechanic to make the win the round quicker some may disagree but there was no "up to" about the information she knew about the sentry or anything else. I myself have been banned for doing such things, i did not state this last night as i was just getting angry but i find it appalling that they kept that current response up that "Marines" need to learn to get in cover. As i was strongly against it and found it abusive i kept saying this to the Admin/Mod who then proceeded to tell me to shut up/be quiet or he'd mute me, then proceeding to mute me and then un-mute me after i said i couldn't care if he muted me, the point stands. Now i was angry at the time and may of swore and hurled insults, and i'm aware there is notes on my key but this is un-acceptable, considering he muted me AGAIN 10 seconds before the round ended. I'm over this sort of thing happening on this game, trying to put my point across or not having the "Staff" see both sides of the story, or even follow the protocol and play god and just do whatever they want, it may be in the rules but this is a game for players and people alike and there was no "Protocol" with any of this. I'm sure if someone was doing something that wasn't right and a staff person was playing, they would then become frustrated and want to figure it out, not just be ignored and not be able voice their opinion, the logs will prove there was quite a few of us saying the same things.

Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc): https://gyazo.com/0e20290e332290989ed45122b4403f0e

How you would punish the accused: I want him stripped for power playing with his verbs, and not to mention completely ignoring what we were saying. Or atleast punished or warned, i was not the only one with the same mindset.

The title as well as the fact that you want Lord stripped of power and that you believe he broke every single staff protocol shows me that you have not read our protocols and you made this report purely out of spite and the fact that you're pissy instead of actually having a complaint.

The Queen in question was moving out from behind the wall to cause the sentry to shoot, and then moving behind cover to avoid it. This means the sentry was placed shittily by Marines. What did you want us to do? Tell the queen "You don't know what a sentry gun is so you have to stand there and get shot a bunch." Fine. Next time you see a boiler cloud you have to stand in it and die because you don't know what the cloud does.

This is one of the most baseless reports I've ever seen.

Edit: since you went ahead and said "I've been banned for this same thing before" I went ahead and looked at your notes. You don't have a single note for metagaming, let alone a ban for not letting yourself get shot by a sentry gun. If you're gonna go ahead and blatantly lie like this in a report, I'm going to put in my recommendation that you be banned for a week for the toxicity you've shown here, in dsay today, and in your past notes seeing as you have a note that said to perma you in next offense from Apop.

Abusing the wall? The sentry gun won't fire at something behind a wall. Was the queen moving back and fourth triggering it?

Do you have any evidence or anything other than a single screenshow of you being muted, then unmuted?

You then proceed to care greatly despite claiming you wouldn't if he muted you.

While there may be a real complaint here, lord knows if I could even say what it means due to the amount of salt it's all buried under. Forum rule #1 clearly states, "Be respectful at ALL TIMES. You may be angry about your situation, but you need to remain CALM AND COMPOSED." This is a perfect example of how to turn a real complaint into rubbish that is impossible to understand.

You sent an ahelp regarding the Queen using the wall after salting in dchat for a few minutes. You got the same answer you were given in dchat. A dev, I believe it might've been Dylan even said in OOC that the Queen using the wall was fine.

Not content with the answer you were given, you kept kept salting in dchat and being disrespectful towards staff. To be precised, this gem: "SAY: Ghost/Shadow10 : You staff r fucked." is what prompted me to tell you to cut the salt. At this point I warned you that you needed to stop or you would be muted. You didn't, so I muted you. I then unmuted you to see if you got the point and the first thing you did was to keep salting, so I re-muted you and then unmuted you at the end of the round. You still had time to send yet another salty ahelp about the same issue despite being told repeatedly over three different channels that the Queen using the wall was perfectly legit.

You were given a clear and definite answer on your issue by several staff members and instead of accepting it and taking it to the forums you decided to salt and disrespect staff. Your behaviour and history were bad enough you could've been banned on the spot. Instead you were simply muted from dchat and in view of that you decided to continue the issue via ahelps and OOC when the round ended.
I used to play Luke Compton. Now I play Reginald Dempsey.

Anything further from OP before we move along with this?

Given the fact Shadow10 never bothered to clear up anything about the base player report, which is basically just filled with salt and only seems to hold the goal to try to get some punishment placed on Sir Lordington, I don't see the need to leave this open any longer.

Just wanted to contribute in saying that I have seen situations (but not this one in particular) where an ayy in a particular spot can get a turret to shoot at them but simply hit a wall with no movement or dodging needed so its certainly possible in weird edge cases.
