Player Report - Rampo/Queen

Post by Symbiosis » 28 Jan 2018, 07:02

Your Byond Key: Symbiosis

Your Character Name: Elite Hunter (157)

Accused Byond Key(if known): Rampo

Character Name: Queen

Approximate time and date of the incident (Central US Time for fastest results): 4:15AM CST onwards.

What rule(s) were broken: Xeno Queen RP/Intentionally harming the Hive.

Description of the incident: Queen was a slow Ovi builder from the start; a little concerning but she eventually hopped in Ovipositor form. About 350 ticks later it took a turn down a dark street of Honeycomb. The Queen began asking for Honeycomb hive structures, telling us how she knew it would harm evolution but the Honeycomb hive structure had been tested by her for many years and it is very effective on defense.

Normally, Queens moving Ovipositors is painful. But this Queen went full Drone/Hivelord Mode early game. She built for so long we didn't have the ability for T2 Warrior castes to evolve until the 44 minute mark. I've attached a screenshot of the "Honeycomb" structure she wished to be built - to such a degree that she crippled evolution timers.

Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc): https://prnt.sc/i6o44l

How you would punish the accused: Right, so this one's a bit iffy. Obviously this doesn't deserve a Xeno ban as a whole. However... After hearing Dylan and the other Headmins discuss how they'd handle "Bad Queens that impede the Xenos" I believe the player SHOULD be Queen banned. If the player were to perform this stunt on an Ice/Big Red round again they'd cripple the Hive to such a degree that it'd be an even quicker Xeno loss and basically nullify the round. The round itself ended as you'd expect when the Queen spends between 500-700 ticks building a Hive Structure and the Marines come charging through the fog when it drops. Not to mention as soon as Marines got close the Queen charged in and died to a small group of Marines.

So to just confirm what's going on, the Queen herself spent a large amount of the round just building herself which prevented evolution? Do you have any ideas how long she was actually building for?

If I had to put a hard number on it... twenty minutes. The amount we were back tick wise on evolution was significant. Normally I can be 100 or so ticks away from Mature T3 when the fog drops. We JUST got our first T3 warrior caste as the Fog dropped.

It wasn't as if it was a necessary building situation; she didn't want the drones to build checkerboard nests... she wanted honeycomb nests, as included in the picture.

Wonderful! I spoke to mod whom I assume noted the Queen and they were fine with the player report. My report is to discover if its job bannable when or if a Queen is hindering the Hive early game. Nip it in the butt style.

If they were talked to about it by a mod and they were giving a warning, then it's already been dealt with. I don't see this as anything more than someone just not really understanding how to effectively play Queen so a warning is fine.

I think Emerald sums it up quite well.

Any major overhauls have "teeth" periods where people will try and adapt new strategies or outright mess up.

Sometimes this results in crazy ground breaking metashifting, sometimes they get stomped,
