What rule(s) were broken: Sythn chased down a drone that was weeding. The drone wasn't attacking anyone. Rule broken is ignoring sythn guidelines " meaning they must not actively engage in combat unless in self preservation or in the defence of a USCMC Personnel"

Description of the incident:Amadeus chased down drone 286 and hit them with a machete as they were actively running away.

Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc): Mod Taketheshot56 saw them kill the drone with no marines around that it was defending. Although he didn't witness the synth chasing after the drone.

How you would punish the accused:It is kinda a shitty thing do they should either get there white-list suspended or be put on white-list probation.

I was Guy Monday that round, Delta PFC. I saw Amadeus come to the front and start treating marines, and he used a stun baton and a machete to defend himself. However, after all the wounded were tended to and evacced, I saw him go offensive and attack xenos without, IMO, a valid reason for a synth. That's just what I saw, I didn't witness this specific killing of the drone, but I did see frontlining.

Okay, let's see... Here is the entire progression of events that round:

After taking care of the chores on Almayer (manning Requisitions, checking on engineering and medbay), I asked the XO where I should apply myself. He said "you're free to go where you feel you'd be most helpful", so I went to help with the FOB on the first drop.

Station was pretty undamaged, xeno presence was pretty much unseen in the east side of the map, so after seeing that FOB was handled and checking on power, I decided to help with wounded towards the front, following Marines. Good thing I did - I saved some people from being shot by the crashed ship sentries - a smartgunner (Connor Alvarado) and a squad leader (Windhealer, but they were DNR). SG had multiple broken bones, so I dragged them to the ship, armed with a stun baton.

Came back, treated a few more half-dead people in north highsec - Spec, SG, marines, medics, etc. Tried escorting spec back to FOB but they wanted their gun. Got to south max sec, there was a big fight there, treated the flamer spec, delta lead, etc. Dragged a Marine back to Alamo for treatment. Went back to max sec, treated a medic, managed to find delta lead captured in a nest, along with another marine. Got my machete from them - the place had many walls and sticky, and it was more efficient to clear things with it. Cleared a bunch of weeds and sticky while helping medic escort a wounded to FOB.

By now, we are at 1:10. Last bioscan said that there are 5 benos left. I think the most I did so far was slapping a crusher with my fist. XO's announcement is to "Hunt the bugs down". Around this time is when we started seeing a few other crazies on the station - a CT in a powerloader, a half-naked MT, and a researcher running around the station itself. I was going back to help wounded / search for the bugs, when I noticed a Drone sitting on weeds, so I engaged. Eventually chased it down to between VIP cellblock and civ residences (was headed that way anyway to scout for wounded). There were no wounded around me to tend to, no other things to do. I could've reported the location and let it scurry away, or engage it so it wouldn't endanger Marines further (as I've already witnessed what xenos could do to people).

After that, a spitter mauled Justin Thyme right next to me, so I slashed them to deter them. I was at low health myself, so I announced the location to all squads and kept the spitter at machete's length - I couldn't tend to the wounded due to their presence. After reinforcements arrived, I treated the Marine until I saw the CT in a powerloader and a Researcher stop by. Seeing as there was a proper medical staff present, I left the wounded in their care. A few minutes later I saw the CT defibbable next to the powerloader, so I healed them up and once again left them under the care of the Researcher that was there. Then I began searching for more people to treat. Found some in maxsec, but they were tended to by 2-3 medics, so I left them be. Queen timer ran out soon after that and the round was over.

So yes, I was a synth at the front lines, but I was treating any wounded I came across. I was armed with a stun baton at first, which I got from the station. I mostly used it for clearing weeds and sticky. Same with machete. I engaged the drone on the way from FOB to the frontline, then held off a spitter until reinforcements arrived. Initial xeno presence and the later low bioscan number meant travelling alone wasn't much of a danger. Saying that I "chased down a drone that was weeding. The drone wasn't attacking anyone" would be a valid point if I was a Predator, but to a Synthetic it was still a hostile megafauna, similar to the one that mauled a lot of Marines they had to treat already, and many that died because of it.

Re-reading the new Synth Guidelines, I have to admit chasing the drone down probably runs a foul of rule 6. I think under the old guidelines this might not have been entirely so.

I would like to add that the hive was about 6 Xeno's the synthetic killed 1/6 of the hive and also drew a fuckload of people to civ residence which got me killed as Queen. The game may of played out differently if the rules were followed.

Alright. I watched the video earlier today, slept on it, watched it again - definite break of rule 6. I'll talk to the council and emerald with this and hope to have this resolved soon

Piachu is a good dev and there wasn't any malicious intent here. That said, all players, be it any ranking staff or normal player, are held to the same whitelist standards and breaking one of the primary rules of Synth is something that has to be dealt with accordingly. ThePiachu will have their whitelist suspended for one week starting today. After a week has passed, the whitelist will be returned and they're free to play Synth again.
