Put Binoculars in the Commander's bedroom

Post by Renomaki » 16 Jul 2017, 14:49

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): While not all commanders like to go groundside, sometimes it is a nice change of pace to get more personal with the mission and deploy with the men. The thing is, however, you don't have a lot of tools which to lead with other than your megaphone and modified headset.

They could use a few more tools to help organize their men easier, and the binoculars should be one of them.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Commanders who want to lead the men planetside for a mission will be better equipped for the task at hand, able to alert men of enemy flanking attacks, the status of men on the front lines, etc etc.

And what if the CO doesn't want to go groundside, but wants someone else on the ground? He can give his binoculars to his XO or, if permitted, a BO instead. Even on the Alma they'd be most useful for coordinating the marines's last stand as the aliens flood the hallways, able to detect what is coming towards them from afar

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Simply enough, when the commander spawns in his bedroom, his binoculars will be happily waiting for him on the table next to him, just as all his tools had before back on the ol' Sully.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Just a minor bit of map work to add them in is all.

Yes please, this really helps in coordination, especially when you don't want to get into the thick of things as a CO.

Binoculars, best used to see who's dying horribly from a safe distance.

Just hope no one sneaks up behind you.

+1 if they're a special shade of grey to match the commander's outfit to become the ultimate special snowflakey commander.

Don't encourage it.

If they are that kinda guy, sure. Might lead to personal-space issues, but if they really need that much help looking at the overwatch screen...
