Bump.

And +1.

I really like the idea of this.
Graham Maclagan [Charlie (Spc)] says, "THERE'S A DRONE AND A TON OF INFECTED LEFT."
Graham Maclagan [Charlie (Spc)] says, "IT AIN'T OGRE"
Graham Maclagan [Charlie (Spc)] says, "NOT YET."
Charlie Harding [Charlie (CL)] says, "It's never ogre."

Thy hero potato hath returned

Hivemind, Mature Larva (47) hisses, '"Hunter 47"'
Hivemind, Young Drone (420) hisses, 'Agent 47 GOOOO'
Hivemind, Young Drone (420) hisses, 'OH M GOD'
Hivemind, Young Drone (420) hisses, 'NOW I'M 420'

Kain Powers [MedSci (Doc)] says, "Im doing an infected marine"
LT Holden Ward [MedSci (BO)] says, "Please do not have sexual intercourse with infected marines"

Hivemind, Young Runner (911) hisses, 'And what a fitting number!'

Bump, and +1 from me as well.

The ability to control hive evolution is a natural power of a Queen. Take the bee for example:

In a beehive, there may not be any 'evolution' per say, but the Queen is able to restrict the number of drones/farmers/warriors with pheromones. As our Queen currently is unable to do that, you end up with a bunch of Ayy's that evolve without permission into unneeded forms that take up the valuable spaces required for other, more important roles.

Also, as the tide of battle changes, there needs to be a way to prioritize which forms are more important, and that feels like something that could be included in this window, rather than taking up a Queen's Order (that people don't seem to pay much attention to anyway). If the Queen had direct control over evo's, she could 'assign' trusted Ayys to specific roles that they're good at.

This would roll in tandem with the OOC identification marker that shows a BYond Key (instead of Marine Name, for example) behind the Ayy's hive designation. The main problem with this would obviously be favoritism, but that's something you'd have to trust a Queen to not pull. Roles have vital importance, and if you're evolving a Rav when you don't need it just because BYond Key JimmyRustles is a good Rav, then you're fucking up your own hive.
I live Xenos. I love Xenos. I would be one if I could.

There's damn good fuckin' reason why my avatar is the Queen. Respect it.

+1 I suggested this way back when, only to get the restrict slashing put in.

+1

As a queen player this sounds orgasmically useful.

Not only does it prevent idiots from screwing you over with T3s, it would really simplify matters for the queen and keep her from shouting over hivemind about crushers.

In addition, it would remove any kind of possible favoritism towards certain players. First there first served

FOR THE HIV...*BOOM*

Or someone else evoles and you lose that precious crusher spot
Or having 4 boilers, 3 ravagers and no crusher.

This happens every single game. To anyone thinking this isn't necessary because aliens are supposed to listen, you're simply dead wrong.

Late +1 because currently the ones that take the time to ask what they should evolve into, might be punished by being locked out of the next tier for being too slow.

+1, great idea, and our lives for the queen. The queen needs more power, but in doing this the queen NEEDS to be whitelisted. Too much power for a newbie and can ruin the entire round for everyone involved.

If the queen was a whitelist position, we wouldn't have one on half the rounds.. I don't think it's much worse than before. If anything, she has less to micro-manage.

viewtopic.php?f=59&t=9722&p=101985#p101985 I made a suggestion here, it is not worse than the present system at all.

@Lucius Jones Maybe Queen white-list is a bit too much.

but hive managment can give Queen Bonus to get what the hive need etc...

Anyway +1 for the main idea.

+1 This would end the problem of Queens not knowing where the aliens are and get the people that run off and don't listen to the Queen out and people that do follow the queen a chance to play.

Add a note field to the UI maybe for dumb people like me, who can't remember 20-30 random numbers. It would be only for the current round and only seen by the Queen. For example after you saw the nice defenses, you add the note "built defenses in the caves" to drone (132) . Then you won't forget which drone to call when you need more.

fairly good idea, ayys have a lot of trouble maintaining order or a command structure, and when it is violated rarely is punishment given.

I like the idea of the Queen having an RTS-like look over the hive and being able to micro-manage all sorts of things more easily.

If the current upgrade/evolution/T3 restriction system is going to stay, a huge +1 from me to avoid cases where a vital xeno T3 gets evo-blocked by yet another Ravager or the fourth Boiler or something like that.
