Background:
Born in a relatively large English city on Earth to wealthy parents within the Sol System, Peter Bates had a well off start in life. At an early age, he was introduced to Weyland-Yutani by interacting with their products throughout his life. He grew an admiration for the Company, something which his Father later commented on being "the deciding factor of his life." Aaron Bates and Grace Bates, Peter's parents, both worked for the Extrasolar Colonization Administration. Over the years, his parents soon collected a large sum of wealth which allowed him to go to elitist private schools, where he was claimed to boast and brag about him and his family infront of his peers. He soon graduated from his school, and with the money his parents had given him, entered and succesfully applied to Oxford Law School for Financial Economics.
After passing his tests and scoring well in College, he graduated on 2168 with a Bachelor's in Financial Economics. Bates at this point had moved out from his home with his family, now living in Upper London. Around this time, Peter had scored an internship with Weyland-Yutani as an assistant to a Liaison, tasked with working with the local English government over economic matters. During his time working for this Liaison, he became a major influence to how Peter would eventually work as a Liaison at LV-178 and subsequently the USS Almayer. This internship lasted for two months, concluding when Weyland-Yutani hired Peter as a temporary Liaison at LV-178.
However, this 'temporary' job with the Company eventually became full time for Peter. The liaison supposed to replace Peter at LV-178 would not show up, citing unmentioned factors with the Company. He worked at this posistion for another two years, having high performance and a good mindset for the job, according to the crew he worked alongside with. Another life changing moment in his career was here, when he had went above and beyond for the Company by scoring another essential partnership in LV-178.
Although, this would not last long. Eventually, the Company would request Peter to transfer to a new USCM ship constructed, the USS Almayer. Peter would accept the offer to transfer to the USS Almayer, and began the journey to the ship right away.
