Persona

Generally has a very dry sense of humor. If there’s a conversation taking place over comms, can almost always be counted on to chime in with some sarcastic remark, much to the ire of his comrades. Stupidity pisses him off, and allows him to use his oodles of insults.

History

Born in 2162 in Deadwood, South Dakota. Keiran's father was killed in a mine collapse when he was four, causing himself and his new-born sister to move to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with their Mother, a Lakota Medicine Woman. While being raised on a Reservation wasn't the best situation, having a Spiritual leader as a mother allowed Keiran to integrate relatively well into the tribe, being able to have a grasp of their Culture and traditions as well as being able to fluently speak Lakota by age nine. Growing older, the problems that plagued the Pine Ridge Reservation, and arguably, all Native American Reservations made themselves more evident. Poverty, substance abuse, alcoholism, and depression hit the Lakota hard, and Keiran was able to see it's effects first hand, many of the victims going to his mother for traditional healing in addition to going to more modern medical centers.

Lawson himself would have eventually fallen victim to these vices had he not found solace in hunting and the outdoors. Multiple times a year he would be seen riding on horseback into the Reservation's badlands, rifle and bow slung across his back, returning to continue his High School education two or three days later. Nobody but himself really knew what he was doing out there.

Barely graduating, the real world hit an 18 year old Lawson like a truck. Jobs were scarce, the only options being in foundries or shaft mines. Not wanting to end up like his old man, Keiran quickly found himself looking into Military service, specifically with the Colonial Marines. After a few Recruiting lies, two shitty MEPS visits, and more mind numbing Future Marine training sessions than he could count, and he was boarding a bus to MCRD San Diego. He was given one final piece of advice from an uncle, a Colonial Marine veteran. "Stay under the Radar. Don't let them know your name." Needless to say, Keiran didn't heed it, and not even a week later his platoon was in the front leaning rest, shouting "FUCK YOU" going down, "LAWSON!" coming up. Only one letter was received by his family during his time in San Diego, addressed to his sister. (Copy attached below)

A training recycle later and Lawson found himself graduated as a 0311, Marine Rifleman. His first duty station being with the 1st Colonial Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California. He had learned his lesson during his time in the MCRD, and his first two years in the Corps were relatively uneventful, save for promotions. In July of 2181 a now 20 year old Corporal Lawson was reassigned to the 4th Colonial Marine Division along the Anglo-Japanese arm and was given his first command, a Scout fireteam on the border planet Chayton 90L3. It was a relatively simple assignment, the only real excitement coming from the occasional protest from the colonists.

In late December of that year, however, Keiran's unit was deployed on the Frontier to combat the growing number of CLF insurrectionists making headway there. All was going well, Lawson himself even being able to pick up a promotion to Sergeant. Though in May of 2182, one the missions turned out to be a complete disaster, leading to the deaths of almost everyone in his team. In the aftermath, it was reported that Keiran struck his Commanding Officer, going so far as to raise his weapon towards him. He was quickly subdued and taken into custody, and was tried under Article 90 of the UCMJ. The punishment being a minimum ten years imprisonment, forfeiture of all pay and benefits, and reduction in rank to E1. He was then promptly shipped off to Fort Leavenworth to begin his term.

Three and a half years into his time in Leavenworth and Keiran found himself staring at a wall in his cell for most of it, until he was approached by a Weyland Yutani representative offering parole deals. Although he was skeptical of the Weyland-Yuntani Company, he would rather not have stayed in a concrete room for the rest of his term, and accepted. Allowing him to get almost six years shaved off of his sentence. Private Lawson was assigned to the USS Almayer, and shipped off to yet another duty station.

Starting off on the Almayer, he was chosen to be one of the platoon's Designated Marksmen early on, attributing his above average aim to the hunting he did back on the Reservation. Still, Keiran mostly kept to himself and didn't really converse with too many members of the crew. Eventually he began to warm up to them, and now almost everyone has something to say when they see him, whether it be good, bad, or both.

Nowadays though, Keiran's counting down the number of drops he has left, because above it all, he just wants to get the hell out of the Corps and get the fuck back home.

He isn't paid enough for this shit.

I play as this guy, proudly being dismembered by extraterrestrials since 2015.
Sometimes I might play other guys, you never know.
