Relatively OLD stuff for the Sualco

Admittedly, this guide shouldn't be made or have to be made. However, after seeing multiple POs manage not be the best at playing the role which involves pressing a single button, I decided to make it.

Yell about how you're the greatest pilot ever, you're going to land with your feet, or you're gonna close your eyes and land. Make sure the marines are worried at every step for their own safety. Demand High Command to blast music over the radio, and cry in your comfy chair when they tell you to fuck off.

Two important things you should add:

There are metal foam grenades in engineering. Ask a MT for one to cover your retreat if the LZ becomes hot.

The other thing is ask for a MT to install a signaler on the bolt cockpit wire (and perhaps the rest of the airlocks) that way you won't have to worry about intruders fukcing up your shit.

Last thing that is missing - When and how to use the shutters! Very very important!!!

The problem with metal grenades: They get people killed. They are generally more trouble than they are worth. I don't use them for that reason.

Shutters: It's one of those very self explanatory things. Close shutter if aliens are about to board/no one is left on the ground. Closing shutters at any other time can and will result in marines being killed.

Bolting is a good idea, though. I just never have MTs competent enough to replace windows so I never ask.

You don't lob the grenade at people. You toss it at the horde of xenos about to board to slow them down.

I've seen some robust POs close the shutters at perfect times and trap xenos on board for ripe slaughter.

And I'm not necessarily talking about the windows. The cockpit is the main airlock you'd want to worry about!

Metal foam grenades create walls that keep other things out. Including marines. More harm than good. Could be good at key moments, but more so a liability.

Trapping xenos is also a good recipe for disaster. I've had it happen to me as a marine and a PO. You don't suggest things that could go very wrong, with no offence being meant towards you.

The window was in reference that they can't fix a window, so I wouldn't be able to trust them to attach a bolt signaler.

In the guide I am giving advice for the simple things and the such, I am not going to tell them to do things that could quite literally break the round. It's something you have to learn on your own, and telling someone new to PO to do something robust/skillful as that is going to result in a lot of wounded and dead.

EDIT: I'll add in a "RISKY AF" tab, for those risky af things you've suggested.

You forgot to add the part about constantly blaring "It Ain't Me" and "Ride Of The Valkyries" (among others) while playing. PO needs a PA system to blare Vietnam tunes.

I spit out my drink when I read this. The last bit is so very true. All the wounded on board usually get killed as the trapped xeno(s) rampages like 3 year old toddler throwing a bitch fit.

You will get a barrel charger over my cold, dead body asking as PO. Frankly if PO has to be fighting in such a capacity that the damage from a weapon matters, marines are doing so bad that the BC isn't going to make any difference in the world anyway.

PO might fire a full magazine over the course of a 3 hour round. Don't be that guy who takes a BC from someone who is actually going to use it.

Yes, your damage as a PO matters. If they're going to give you one as a PO, they'll give it to a grunt. Killing xenos that are killing wounded is important. Depending on the map, the PO can and will be shooting lots of xenos. If it's pretty even, you will go through more than a magazine. So, having a BC will help as it'll make you kill the things that would of pounced away.

If you don't get it, shitty. It's not necessary, and it's not necessary for specs either. It's nice to have.

My suggestion is to not put both engine upgrades on the same ship. At least if you have a full shift where you know the boys will need lots of fire missions. On ICE both upgrades on the same ship since you'll likely have almost no runs to do. But both shifts where I've gotten kills as the Normandy it was becuase I put the recharger engine upgrade in and was dashing to reload. And personally I wouldn't put any none sentry weapons on the Alamo since its so busy with drops and medevacs it never has a spare moment.
