Yeah, Smartgun deals more damage than the SMG but less than the M41A.

Hence why I think its a poor weapon for a Spec, but I digress.

And the Shotgun is worse than the Magnum? Guess I have to put a stop to slapping a gyro on that thing and pretending I'm Mad Max one arming it.

So, I'd like to know how much damage the magnum actually does, compared to the others... Qualified as 'medium', like the rifle, but I'm sure the rifle would do more damage.

Could anyone clarify?

You actually need the optic on a smartgun to fire it, though thermal doesnt have to be on. You need all parts of the smartgun to use said smartgun, otherwise you simply have a smartbrick.

While we don't have solid numbers to go by (as it was said earlier in the thread, this isn't a game about number-crunching), if we go by the previous server version:

Per shot, the magnum would do more damage than the M41A
The M41A's rapid-fire and larger magazines would give it a higher overall DPS.

Probably.

Z! If you press the "Z" button with hotkey mode on, you can activate the item in your hand, same as clicking it or pressing pagedown!
I just thought you might want to add that to the M41A section or something.

The sniper's goggles are pretty much borderline useless half the time I've used them.

Sniper Goggles allow you to see if your bullet is going to hit a wall or open space. It's a lot more useful than shooting with regular vision and nailing a wall 7 tiles away.

Yeah, it needs a general update. Descriptions for weapons such as how to reload a shotgun are kinda outdated, among other things.

A few more things could be added, as well:
Non-standard weapons such as Weyland/Blackmarket guns(and how much they suck)
Updated sprites(In the end really just a cosmetic change to it, but makes it seem more updated)

Now it need updates as CM's Weapons have to be changed because of Lore and re-balance. In memories of Abby's work. And the current "The Team" Staff's work too.

Scope on a .44 magnum with the stock and long barrel is like the Standard's sniper next to the shotty.

I honestly do think the HPR is decent even though plenty of people crap all over it. You get 100 rounds per mag, and can keep those mags on your belt. Burst fire is controllable and capable of wrecking any T1 xeno.

Yeah I do agree, Heavy Pulse Rifle need to be a thing for Squad Lead, HPR also should already take any M4 ammunition (10mm).

After following the Lore for quite a long time in the game, you did have to figured, this Colonial Marine could have been some what more fantastic and polishes unlike the dramatic Aliens film.

Poor Mans HMG: HPR with Quickfire
Poor Mans LMG: Smartgun with Quickfire
I fully recommend both of these, Do not that if you put a quickfire on your HPR please, PLEASE, put a barrel/silencer and grip on it.

This place would be so much better if marines were replaced with cyborgs, atleast those would follow orders. assuming there was a rule forcing them to do so...

You can also do it with your own vendor, walk up to it and resupply, boom, fully loaded powerpack

I feel like this could use a major update. I like the dedication though put into the guide though.

If the OP is still active and is willing please do take the time to update it.
