viewtopic.php?f=57&t=14417)? Yes, I understand the synthetics can't really feel emotions, and therefore don't let it cloud their judgement. If I see Uriel "Whitey" Turner dying, and next to him is the CO, I can't let my natural bias of helping Whitey get in the way of it. Sorry bud.

Mortimer would be found in the officers cafeteria, grabbing a coffee from the vending machine. He would prefer a coffee maker rather than the vending machine, as through his experience those he served liked it brewed rather than vended. He didn't have that tool however, so he would just grab the coffee and then walk back towards CIC. His body was very still while walking, his shoulders never sinking more than what the foot movement commanded. Once he arrived at the CIC, he walked into the command center with a smile on his mustached face. Walking towards the glass, computer filled station in the middle of the room, a familiar figure was leaning back in the chair, rolling a cigar around in his mouth.
"Good morning, Master Crimson. I hope your cryostasis pod was adequate?" spoke Mortimer, his English accent heavily evident in his pronunciation. As he was speaking, he held out a steady hand carrying the coffee.
Crimson grabbed the coffee from his hands, nodding in appreciation, then placed his cigar in a glass ashtray. "Cryo is cryo, can't say much about that" he said. Lifting up the cup towards Mortimer, he said "Thanks for the coffee, Mortimer."
Mortimer nodded in gratitude, then replied "What would you like me to do during this operation?"
After a moment or two of contemplation, Crimson took a sip of the coffee and said "Patrol around the ship, see what departments need your help."
With a quick bow, Mortimer said , "Right away, Master Crimson.", then he decided that requisitions would require his help the most right now. He then began his way to the hellhole of 12:00-12:20 req.
On the way down to requisitions, Mortimer would pass the south cafeteria, next to Charlie and Delta prep rooms. Walking by, he noticed Charlie squad sitting down at all of the tables, and one Charlie marine noticed him as well. Waving up a quick hand, the marine, Sam "Green" Greene yelled out to Mortimer "Hey, Mort! Get over here for a second!" Mortimer complied, then walked through the doors to the cafeteria. Walking up to him with a sense of excitement would be Green and Olaf "Viking" Karlsson, where they both handed him throwing knives. Olaf would pipe up, saying "Think you can juggle these or something cool, Mortimer?"
Mortimer gave a small chuckle, and always willing to complete any request, took the four knives into his hands, and replied "I think I could try, sirs Greene and Karlsson." The two marines clapped, and called over all of Charlie breakfast to witness this. After a nod of affirmation for him to do it from Greene, Mortimer began to juggle the knives with expert precision and quick hands. The entire squad sat there, laughing and cheering him on as his pace got faster and faster, until he eventually stopped, sliding each knife onto the table one at a time. After this flurry of knives and catches, Greene patted Mortimer on the back, saying "That was a good show!" Mortimer nodded, and said "I appreciate the compliment, sir Greene. I believe requisitions would appreciate my presence there, so I must bid you farewell." He gave the squad a bow and a farewell, then left to requisitions.

With the requisitions rush done, Mortimer was moving crates for the RO, Rain Winterson. After pulling crates around, assembling racks for organization, as well as handing an attachment or two while the CT's were busy, Rain said "We'll be set for now, thankya Mortimer." He bowed to Rain, then said "Of course, madame Winterson. Do have a good operation." After this, he left req, and then walked towards engineering to see if they needed help.
He continued this pattern for the duration of the operation, running from engineering to medical, and occasionally checking in on requisitions to see if anything needed his attention. While assisting a new MT fix a generator, he heard the voice of Crimson speak over his radio. "Mortimer, please come to CIC quick.". Mortimer leaned down to the MT, and said "Excuse me, sir Jermain, I must report to the Combat Information Center. All you need to do is wrench the frame back into place, good luck." With that, he left the MT to do his work, and while walking to CIC, spoke over comms "On my way there, Master Crimson.
Once he ended up at CIC, Crimson waved him over to come to his personal quarters, where Mortimer quickly followed him in pursuit. The doors were opened into the desk area, where Mortimer entered, then Crimson closed the door behind him. Going into the next room, they were surprised by a man in an UPP uniform, aiming a pistol at the door. "AH, THE COMMANDER! JUST WHO I EXPECTED!" Before the situation could evolve even further, Mortimer stepped in front of Crimson, then simply spoke to the man. "Put down your weapon sir, and you shall have a better chance of survival." The UPP soldier laughed maniacally at this proposition, then aimed his gun at Mortimer's chest. "I might just shoot you as well, get out of the way, пожилой человек" (old man). Mortimer began to walk forward, speaking in a monotone voice "Oчень хорошо." (very well). The man instinctively fired a shot at Mortimer, which hit his shoulder and made him stop for a second. Mortimer looked down at his now wounded shoulder, white liquid beginning to flow out of the hole, then full on sprinted at the man. The UPP soldier didn't have enough time to fire another shot, all he could do is yell "What the hell are y-" His voice was cut off by a hand grabbing his neck and lifting him in the air, his feet kicking middair.
"You shall not harm Master Crimson." he said simply.
He then whipped him at the ground, his head making a satisfying thud! noise and leaving the UPP soldier unconscious. Crimson's voice could be heard saying "How was he able to get in her-" he stopped mid sentence when an MT rushed at Mortimer from the bathroom with a wrench, yelling "DIE ROBOT!". Mortimer was prepared to stop his attack, but he didn't have to. Crimson whipped out his Mateba autorevolver, then launched a shot at the MT. A massive bullet entered from his side, then exploded out the other side, leaving him to tumble on the ground. Holstering the Mateba, he said "I guess we're even now." Mortimer chuckled, then said "I suppose so, Master Crimson. I will clean up this mess, as well as get this bullet removed from my shoulder. Excellent shot." While saying this, he reached into his medical belt and pulled out a roll of gauze, so he could stop the bleeding of the bullet. Noticing a spilled coffee on the ground, he commented "Oh dear, my apologies on the coffee Master Crimson. Would you appreciate another one?" Crimson simply chuckled, and said "That would be good Mortimer, but get yourself fixed up first."
The UPP man was later executed for attempted assassination, and Crimson enjoyed a coffee as the groundside mission was a success.

Mortimer will be the epitome of a loyal butler. I don't mean he'll be constantly fetching tea or drinks, but he will carry himself that way. Punctilious, graceful, focused, and concerned over the well-being of the mission, and as a by-product; the marines. My main support focuses will be medical and engineering, as those require the most assistance during the round. The butler quirk will only go far enough towards simple actions and dialect, he will not being walking around with a cane and monocle, and he won't be wearing the CL's suits. It's all about his wording, from referring to people as "sir" or "madame", as well as referring to the CO as "master", to compliments on decisions.
"Mortimer, go down to the F.O.B and place some barricades on the west side. Go to req for metal."
"Excellent choice, Master Carson. I will head down right away."
This doesn't mean he'll be like Yesman from Fallout: New Vegas, but he will be a friendly, agreeable type.

Medical: This is one of the roles that I trained in so I could have a better chance at this synthetic application, I can confidently uphold myself in the medical category I would say. There are a couple surgeries I can't recall off the top of my head, but that's why you have the wiki page open in another tab.
Engineering: One of my stronger roles, I used to play squad engineer and MT frequently, and I know how to work everything needed. I've built a mean F.O.B in my day, and as MT I'm usually the one upkeeping the generators and cleaning up blood. Such is life of the janitor.
Science: While it is mostly an RP role, I know some basic chemistry recipes and can work the chemistry machines adequately.
RO: This is the other role I played a ton in order to prepare myself for the synthetic application, while it is a very tedious job, I can do it. My greatest skill in this role is moving boxes, you can count on me for that.
Piloting: Press button, call departure times, easy money.
Leadership: I was aCO one round, SO for a couple others, and SL many times. I can operate the overwatch consoles well enough, it isn't very hard. The hardest part about it is paying attention to other comms, personally.
Policing: This might be my strongest role, I have Marine Law more or less memorized, and I even remember a few of the times. I know I won't be doing any arrests myself, but knowing Marine Law well is a big boost to playing a synthetic, as you're much more aware of your limitations.
I believe I should be whitelisted because I can RP pretty well, I used to do written ones, and then after that I did DND's for a while. Also, on CM I have many credible people who can say I can uphold the rules and RP well, as well as know the support roles. Also, in order to make this application better, I played every role I was bad at to better learn the support roles, and therefore if this is accepted, be a better synthetic than if I didn't play those roles. I get that some people make a synthetic just for the round end robusting with a machete or whatever, but I prefer the quiet work of fixing generators or doing surgery as a synthetic. Synths aren't meant for fighting off the xeno horde, that's why we have PFC's.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? I haven't been banned at all throughout my time on CM, and I'm fairly sure I have no notes on my account.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline?
Yes, I agree with this policy a lot as well, since a good application doesn't mean jack when they constantly break the rules as their whitelisted character.
