    I'd like to say Kudos to the devs for whatever they did, been playing a 206 player round on prison just now and the game is pretty smooth. Compared to the 185 player round I was playing a week ago on prison where the game would freeze after moving every 4 squares.

    I would enjoy seeing some form of maps that are slightly modified for certain pops.

    Low pop especially could see with a more closed and streamlined maps.

    Yes and no.
    Here is my take on it. Lag happens in spikes.
    This is what makes it so bad. If everything ran a tiny bit slower or quicker you would not notice.
    (A lower or higher tickrate.) Or you would adjust to it.

    But with spikes it means it is easier to PB that crusher running by with a good spike you will pb it without ease.
    All gameplay that happens in cm is quite affected by lag.

    Now, I am quite sure that if the right measures were taken we could run 300 people before lag kicks in.
    We as a dev team already cut down 2 of the lowest hanging fruit.
    But it all depends on the amount of time you want to spend on it.

    CM had lag because of the ssethtide and we implemented stuff to make the server suited for that.
    Now, I feel that we are ahead of the player curve again and that max pop at this time is not always lag.
    And Neth is still working on improving 2 heavy lag generators.
    I am also working on 3 lag generators.

    To give an answer to the original question.
    There has not been any discussion in the dev team about getting a player cap.
    We prefer to optimize and change the game to better suit our playercounts.
    And my personal opinion right now is that until the alien amounts change a player cap is not really needed.

    if the server explodes again cuz of some other ytube vid, I would love to see a 2nd CM server instead of a player limit

    I never want there to be a limit on player. More the merrier. Lag be damned our devs will simply work hard to make it better as it happens.
