or they know every new feature alters the balance so they would rather throw in a whole bunch of new features then balance everything at once instead of having to spend time tweaking crap constantly. I highly doubt Neth is saying they wont do any balancing at all (which obviously they have been tweaking new things they add constantly. Neth alone rebalanced neuro and daze like 5 times since it was implemented)

We don't need a 50-50 balance, we just need the balance to change once in a while, from marine side to xeno side, back and forth. Much like other games, for example, League of Legends that constantly adds new features on top of the fucked-up balance, this keeps the game fresh, no champion,class or weapon or xeno caste is permanently too strong or permanently too weak.
People that want to win can play the side that has the better win rate and run meta load-outs. People that want a challenge can play the losing side, those that want to have fun play load-outs that are not exactly meta but extremely fun to use (Like Dual SMGs or Revolvers to meme around with)
50-50 Balance is kind of impossible though tbh, cuz you'll always have at least 2 or 3% tilting the scale ever so slightly
And yet balance shifted to marines only when it wasn't intentional. How noble. And LoL is such a great example, we all know that during all those championships one team is supposed to win more than the other, even when loads of money are at stake.
Why not combining all that shit in each side? If you want challenge, play either side combat roles, if you want easy win, play as each side support roles. How complex.
Also nobody wants perfection at 50 - 50 balance, it is impossible, but aiming at 50 - 50 isn't. All it takes, just aim.
Outside the quotes, new features will work like sprinkles on the same stale piece of xenobread. Different gamemodes that could run themselfs would be fresh. Nice events that don't turn you into a monkey and give EQUAL (can you stand something 50 - 50?) potential to both sides so that they can use it to adventage, or let it fuck them over, outside of staffmeme intervention.

Every viable tank loadout needs a couple things:
1. Able to destroy walls cost-effectively
2. Able to fend off close-range xenos
Minigun/flamer does both of these + killing xenos better than any other weapon loadout on the tank except LTB/TOW (which sacrifices all the utility AND sustained fire for a single big alpha strike that leaves the tank incredibly vulnerable afterwards). That's why everyone takes minigun/flamer. You can push the tank through obstructions when necessary. You can create no-go zones around the tank to keep from getting swarmed. You can punish and annihilate xenos who play dumb and get in front of the main gun too long.
All the other options basically suck at 1 and 2, and then on top of that most of the other options ALSO suck at killing xenos.
The alternative tank loadouts are not good enough as specialized weapons for a particular niche, and none of them come close to the generalist utility of minigun/flamer.
