Friendly fire / team blocking
Onehit mechanics / dying too quickly
Low damage / enemies survive too long
Lag
Low individual impact
Overmoderation
Undermoderation
Too many maps / maps difficult to learn
Too few maps / maps too simple
Server population too high / too low
Low effort LRP players that nobody cares about so their behaviour is encouraged
Devs yo
I like how overmoderation and undermoderation are going toe to toe. The duality of CM.
The "low individual impact" is what's lovely about the game, if you don't like being a cog in the unga dunga clockwork, you can just switch to being a xeno where each xeno can accomplish a lot more. Also gib more maps pls
Complete lack of space KFC.
*Takes breath*
A development team that focuses on balance, K/D ratios, Weapons, and keeps promising to rework shipside roles and forgets roleplay even though its in our description were a goddamn role play server
a development team that made false promise after false promise regarding predator and just says COMING SOON when we ask for shit
A staff team dependent on a encyclopedia of unwritten rules that rivals a criminal statute book for any major State
A staff team of people who are afraid to make decisions, or can't think on the fly and need their hand hold for some of the most basic decision making in the world
A community of entitled shitheads who think they shouldn't be told no and make frivolous staff reports when they should be told to fuck off
A management team that is afraid to tell people to fuck off when bullshit complaints are made
A group of COs who made a mockery of the whitelist and their dumb antics to the point its caused a bunch of people to join the #fuckwhitelists bandwagon
A third antagonist role that has a giant rulebook that makes them A. unable to do stuff or B. Just get memed by veteran players for those EPIC PREDATOR KILLS MAN
LRP Shitheads
A "council" system that takes to long to resolve stuff
A "council" system that is no longer chosen by the people and instead just whoever an admin feels like
A easy permanent ban system that a four year old can evade
A development team at each others throats who have no unified direction
A staff hierarchy system that encourages underhandedness and backstabbing to get promoted
Unhinged retiree boomer man
Get off my lawn you kids
the main problems with CM are
- too many players for one server, which causes lag
- stun based combat, which thankfully is being fixed or at least partially mended with mobamorphs
- hidden rules and rule 'clarifications' that are basically just addenda to rules that stretch so far and are so objective that they might as well be rules in of themselves
- admin 'events' consisting of spamming the most overpowered xeno that still hasn't been removed (ravenger, predalien, etc) with little to no explanation or RP behind it, then when approached claiming it wasn't abuse, just an 'event'
- shipside roles, departments, etc being completely ignored by developers except for research because tobi likes it. this causes a lower standard of rp because rp is impossible on the ground and since there's literally nothing fun or interesting to do on the ship since engineering, medical, etc are gutted, medium tier roleplayers just stop playing or leave the server
- carrier still exists
- both sides have ridiculous mechanics that only have 1 counterplay for most units, being to stay out of their way (see: b18 spec, the SADAR, the LTB tank, boilers, the Queen)
- huge maps with complex layouts keep being created despite players very clearly preferring the smaller maps (LV, BR) to the large ones
- the division on MPs. on one hand you have insufferable lrp shitlords, on the other hand you have hitleresque hardgriefers who'd like nothing more than to arrest you for 30+ minutes because you said a bad word or acted in a way that you didn't like. they also have the most obnoxious OOC shield protecting them from suffering consequences for their actions, while allowing them full reign to grief other players in subtle or not so subtle ways.
- powergaming is encouraged because there's only a few viable loadouts, you never truly have the freedom to try whatever build you'd like. you must always take 2 agrips, 1 maghar and 1 QFA, and you must always take an m37 and a m41. want to try an m44 sharpshooter build, or an akimbo m41 build? good luck killing anything that isn't a larva.
- the forced skill cap generated by things such as wield inaccuracy penalty, the former hipfire penalty, click delay on things that have no reason to have it (inventory management, fucking prying floor tiles, pressing buttons), and the soon-to-be extinct xeno macro delay.
edit: i almost forgot
- rule 0
