This is pretty interesting, might be a bit boring for the first half of the round as you're essentially a massive sentinel until the queen starts moving/something comes to her. I really like the idea of the queen having dedicated bodyguards though.
I don't like the idea solely because Palatine xenos are meant to only exist on the xeno homeworld.
Praetorians are already the queen's elite guard.
Then give the Palatine buff ideas to praetorian...?

Having a Tier 3 dedicated to Queen defense is useless unless the Queen de-ovis or the hive is under attack. For that reason praetorian is more of a surrogate Queen than a bodyguard.
On TG the praetorian is a unique role granted to one xeno by the Queen and can evolve into a Queen like a drone. I could see the Palatine fulling the same role, being a unique bodyguard chosen by the Queen (not one you can just evolve into).
Nailed it. Unique bodyguard role granted only to one wanted by the queen. It'd help ensure the role fulfillment both in the lore and in the gameplay sense.
