Imagine being a PFC with no shoulder lamp or rail light, but nothing but a lit match to help you defeat the xenos. That is what using a gas mask is like. On top of that, you still eat ass if gassed if you have it on, you just eat a slightly little bit less ass, which is still a lot of ass. It's probably the weakest thing in the entire marine disposal that has an actual use designed for it.

Hehe, breath mask blocks gas for long enough to escape MP's gas attacks. No need to reduce your vision if you don't plan to stand in cloud.

They block vision which is a really bad thing in most situations. Sure you can put them on whenever theres gas you have to walk through. But its just way too situational to use.
