I like this idea. That's the reason why I don't using any weapons except shotguns, it is because feeling of their uselesness and pathetic amount of damage, while shotguns at least stuns some xenos at close distances and you feel their impact.
Yes, I remember when everyone lost their shit for K/D ratios. Did you? Because you seems not, as K/D ratio was bad, because it only registered the one guy who did the last bit of damage, thus creating environment where marines would suicide, jump onto your fireline, everything, to just kill that already critted runner, die and get that +1 to their stats, so they can flash them on furscord.
I want to see you playing and then examining several xenos in a split second to determine which to shoot so that they die first. Might as well remove beno sprites so that each and every looks like a drone, because its so easy to just examine and check the name of that beno.
Health bar was a workaround to a possible problem of CM not wanting to have damage overlays because TGMC has them. And to fix a problem with benos like runner hiding under the table, make that health bar appears after they are lower than 75% HP and its fine and dandy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't xenos automatically hiss once they recieve enough damage? Making that more obviously connected to damage (for example, if they hit 50% or 25%) or adding audio or emotes to stuff like, for example, xenos collapsing into crit or armor being shredded could be a viable alternative to creating overlays or immersion-breaking healthbars. There has been a frustrating handful of situations where xenos barely escape with their life and collapse into crit behind a resin wall but marines don't chase because they have no way of knowing how damaged a xeno is without counting every shot that is dumped into an alien. Of course you don't want too go far and just give them healthbars but just a little bit more knowledge of how damaged a xeno is would help so much. A small quality-of-life update.
In comparison, it's pretty easy to see how damaged a human is, from visible splints and blood/cuts, the slowdown when injured, hearing bones crack, etc.
The TG xeno sprite damage overlays are fantastic. We should absolutely use it and not be afraid of burrowing good ideas.
