Description of the incident:

During LV round Alpha was on FOB. One engi was constructing cades at LZ1 and in Nexus, another engi wandered off. Xenos captured Hydro and marines were fighting at North Nexus.

During this fight CO made announcement that Alpha squad marines are to be arrested for desertion, without exceptions. SO told us that it was mostly because Delta was complaining about bad FOB. I was treating and reviving marines in Central Nexus and, as far as i know, still was marked for desertion.

From my perspective CO ordered arrest of Alpha squad without investigation, and he didn't make any exceptions, even for engineer that was at LZ1 .

It is up to council and admins.

Hello, I was smartgunner of Alpha Squad. Since I was Alpha squad I thought I would add my perspective of what occurred. At the start of the round when we landed the engineers didn't start building the FOB till about 5+ minutes after running around. The Alpha specialist actually did some of the cade lines. I was hanging around the LV mostly by myself and one engineer when I noticed that our objectives stated that the engineers are to stay at the LZ and the rest of the squad has free movement. I went up and we were fighting at the river and I noticed there was an announcement for alpha to go back to LZ1 since there was not many people defending it, but the primary orders still stood and we were slowly pushed back to hydro the nexus.

I guess during this time that the marines were being attacked at nexus that the commander ordered the entire Alpha Squad to come up on the Almayer and face "Punishment". I didn't notice this order but had to go up to medbay to get surgery since I got friendly fired and while I was waiting go to medbay the CMP arrested me but allowed me to get treated. After I got treated he moved me to the brig, said he "didn't agree with this" and perma brigged me. I was in the perma brig the entire rest of the round and didn't get spoken to once since they bolted me in. I guess the Alpha SL then went up to the CIC with some Alpha and wanted to talk to the Captain.

I wasn't there but from the comms I heard that the Alpha SL got BEed and that was it. I really don't think the captain should have order the entirety of Alpha to come up to the CIC and be detained. The Captain did not extend this to late joiners but requested the Alpha SL to come up even though he did latejoin and had no impact on the start of the round since he hadn't joined yet.

All in all I was disappointed to sit out of the round in perma brig for the lack of FOB construction that our engies were having difficulty with.

I'll be discussing possible changes revolving around squad arrests with the CO Council. This will either be updated later today or in the upcoming days

Alright, forgot to update this at the time but Marine Law has been updated with Prevarication to help prevent CO or other people ordering entire groups of people to arrest. The person being reported will not be punished for this report. Resolved
