    Xenos need to start off more powerful at around T1 Ancient level to actually dissuade marines from rushing as quickly as possible.


    Also Marines need a teleporter platform (4x4) on the Almayer with another teleport pickable by squad engineers similar to the mortar. Then just have each teleporter use draw an insane amount of power on the Almayer as well as on the planet.
    There you go, now marines are competitive for longer while aliens are also stronger. It would also give a reason to repair power like ever... and it would also give a reason to make and defend an FOB. It would also make more interesting strategies happen and we could finaly get around the insane DS delay.

    If you get wounded and you have to go back up to get fixed it can take anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes....one of the big reasons why marines crumble so quickly in the meta.
    The time it takes to get to the almayer get fixed and then get back into the fight is too long.

    Teleporters are completely non-canonical. Plus we are already have drop pods for supplies, if people would only use them.

    I'm pretty much dreading the introduction of this defcon nonsense because it's not going to fix people's perceived problems with the game, and it only succeeds in diluting the concept of the game itself.

    Orbital Strikes are a joke. CAS is a joke (most pilots and squad leaders have learned by now and don't even bother with it). Mortars are a joke. Basically anything that marines have that requires coordination and multiple points of player contact are so nerfed to the ground and weak that there is no check for aliens once their mutators and evolution kick in late game. Marines have no effective defensive tools to win when on the back foot, therefore can only lose slowly.

    Whats our canon? Aliens? I thought we were trying to distance ourselves from that a bit.
    Also, rejecting potentially better and more fun gameplay because it isnt canonical is silly. Seriously...

    I'm totally fine with mortars and such being shit. You can still get kills with em, and fire OB is still really fucking potent. Look, no one wants to be killed by something off screen they can't counter directly mkay? mortars and ob and case are basically "Get the fuck off my lawn." tools. You force xenos to fall back / split up. Though you might force them to regroup as well. Good marines can capitalize on an OB by advancing with flamethrowers, locking down areas whilst engis claim more ground. Only the fact that metal barricades are so shit fuck up this strategy. Otherwise you could totally still use em this way on certain maps.

    Man I sure like being killed by Boiler Wider Gas despite being behind barricades because wider gas goes past cades; a off screen kill.

    Man I sure do love being screeched and killed by a horde of T3's without being able to do anything; a onscreen kill that is only countered by SADAR.

    Your point of being killed by bullshit abilities means nothing when Xenos have bullshit abilities they can spam which kills or deters marines reliably, and can be constantly spammed with only a cool down, whereas Marines have HIGH COOLDOWN ordinance that ALSO is LIMITED yet it can barely do SHIT ALL. OB Incendiary is the only good thing SL's can ask for, whereas CAS is only good at spamming at a choke via GAUSS to scare xenos and thats about it. And because of how limited it is (can't use in Caves or Buildings, the two areas we fight THE MOST) its essentially useless.

    Mortar is the middle ground for this but there is so little ammo for it and its so expensive to replace the ammo, that Mortar cannot be reliably used.

    The balance issues in the game are completely borked due to the introduction of mutators and should be changed as soon as possible as they just make the game stale for both sides.

    Mutators did NOT revamp the way Xenos are supposed toplay, they do not shape up your playstyle as there's always the obvious meta choices because they net the most in terms of effectiveness. Flaws are an absolute joke, plasma flaw on combat centric castes shouldn't be a thing and just causes more problems in terms in balance. The main borked mutators are damage on Ravs and the wider gas, rav damage mutation scales to insane amounts to the point where three slashes from a YOUNG Ravager will cause humans to fall into hard-crit which is just guaranteed death. Wider gas mutations makes Boilers able to cover the entire screen with neuro gas easily at mature, rendering pushes and defences completely useless due to the fact that staying inside the gas for one tick forces you to drop your weapon and causes blindness.

    The weapon rebalancing causes more issues with the Marines than with the Xenos. Getting shot once by a normal M41 bullet at on-screen range is enough to cause a bone break, delimb or IB; ruining your round because now you're forced to miss the exciting few minutes where both teams are at a constant push and pull, something that is actually fun and enjoyable for both sides.

    Pretty much what Swagile said,

    Rounds are extremely quick, lowpop is not worth playing and High Pop rounds end before the 13:30 mark.

    Mutators are pain in the ass and weapon rebalancing fucks marines over even more because every fucking hit is a fracture or IB. And that's not even AP.


    HVH is unplayable and XVH is basically Rush to win or die to attrition.

    Also warriors still exist
    and Neurospam too.
