As SEA i was not informed which FOB you were stationed at i thought you were in LZ and in LOOC i was not trying to be antagonistic or say you dumbass this and that i stated word for word id suggest checking with the admins and make sure you are not job banned and explain the situation because in the wiki it clearly states in the event the CO is not available the XO has to be in CIC the only pilot i saw in the round was aden cooper that is not played by hunk but i can see a understanding in you mistaking my text for something else because you were in cic and felt threatened and ect but i did not appreciate the facts you called me insults early in the round after suggesting the first time but i do not take it personal my job is to advise not criticize regardless of which Laws are laws and i stated how jones is considered under the USCMC and its laws but i joined the round after Jones was allegedly killed and concerning you being arrested i was not part of that i was in cic trying to get a person in command while you were absent from CIC in which no one took command after pressuring the CE whom SSD the CMP refused the RO was none responsive and the LT Heinrich was then selected by me because he did not know that he was next in line besides that i heard you were arrested inwhich i went down there to suggest to you that under XO guidelines a moderator could theoretically ban you but i wanted to make sure you kept your role if you find my concern as a insult to you or antagonistic to you i was only informing you and my true intentions were to unfoobar the situation / make sure you didn’t lose your role especially in cic the SOs were disordered and had no idea what to do and ect - Sent via iphone so excuse any spell or formatting errors

Although everything turned upside down on the whole 'BEing Jones' fiasco, which Smov told me to stop acting raterded afterwards, I still withold my positive vote on this application, as it seems too early to jump into conclusions of someone's skills and knowledge in one simple mistep, though I cannot ignore quotes like 'I pardon the CO' I trust Just L will have a clearer mind on ML.

Though do tone down anything hostile agaisnt the MP force, it does more harm than good by arguing whenever or not they do their job fine (I wont go much in detail but Just L may have a distaste for how MPs enforce their jobs) which isnt how a CO should be acting with the personnel who keep his ship safe, sure you may RP like an asshole (I do that often) to them, but I never have strong feelings if I get arrested or reported by CMP himself for me crossing the line, even on the whole Jones deal I wasnt angry, just tired.

The man can lead and he ain’t insane and going to BE 20 pvts for annoying him. Just keep watching him and see how he is on average rather than one bad incident.

Thank you. I don't really think there was any good way to resolve that situation between the MPs and Dismas, I just wanted to try and make it enjoyable for any of the marines still left in that round, and it showed that the less interaction there was with the MPs that round, the better.

As a Captain the MPs will be your best friends. You will be working with them regardless of how much you want to avoid them. You are given the power of pardoning which is almighty and there will be many instances of marines shouting your names saying MPs are abusing them and their time is unfair. This is why I urge CO applicants to spend time playing MP and really understanding the struggles MPs face at times, and also how to recognize when an MP is actually being shit-tier and when he is actually doing fine and its just a marine crying because he was arrested.

His charge is resisting and DASO for calling the CMP a retard. He claims the CMP threatened him by saying he'd arrest him if he kept shoving marines in briefing and thus he chose to insult him. What do you do?

I know Orlando is an able Squad Leader and XO and would do fine as a CO.
He knows his stuff and how to properly command a squad/operation, besides being a fun guy to play with. I think he'd be a great addition to the CO roster. +1

Thanks Snooper. I have played MP way, way back in the past a bunch, I just don't find it enjoyable when the server is very much geared towards the Xenos vs Marines aspect. It's not like /tg/station where the sec team has actual stuff to do, assistants are almost always greytiding, and antags are actually an issue.

When a marine is being a shitter, I have absolutely no problem with them getting brig time, as long as it isn't excessive.

First thing, I'd talk to the marine and see if he is immediately disrespectful towards me as well, since generally I find that there are players who just take any chance they get to act like an idiot. If he insults me, I will tell him that I am here to try and help him, and if he continues to be rude or aggressive, I will just leave him and let him serve his time.
Then, regardless of his response, I would go around the corner and talk with the CMP—this way the marine wouldn't be able to try and interrupt us by throwing his shoes at the brig window repeatedly, or by going "NO THATS A LIE" every time the CMP says something the marine disagrees with.

Some of the questions I would ask the CMP are:
"Did you do anything to prompt this marine calling you a retard?"
"Did he just get out of cryo? Cryo tends to leave marines cranky."
"Do you have any other witnesses to this?"

At this point, I would get on squad comms for that marine's squad and ask them if he actually did call the CMP a retard, and why. Based on the response I got from the marine's squad, I would either tell the CMP to leave the marine in the cell, pardon the marine, or suggest a lowered timer. a If he had a legitimate reason for getting upset enough to call the officer a retard, like the CMP standing outside of req and staring at all the marines wordlessly, then I would suggest that his timer is lowered, as the CMP should know that marines do not like it when MPs are staring at them gearing up.

What I try to do as SO, XO, and squad leader is not throw rank around, I try to get the marines to listen to me by listening to them as well and knowing what they want. Saying "Do this because I am your squad leader" doesn't really work. Saying "Wait here with me for five minutes and then when I say flank, we flank, and then we can unga and get a ton of kills" is something that marines will be responsive to.

Also, if it's a specialist or smartgunner, or a currently essential marine such as a FOB Duty Engineer, I would most likely pardon them and then explain to the CMP that they are necessary for the op.
However, I would also force the marine to apologize to the CMP, if he refuses, he stays in his cell. That's close enough to be an NJP that the CMP should be okay with it, and it will humble the marine a little.

Based on your answers of questions, initial application, community support and your summary of everything that happened this round, I believe you are fit for CO. Just don't be so hostile to MPs or they will hate you more. (I experienced that before and It's terrible to get meta grudged every round by MPs when I was a baldie). I had you as my XO before and you did good by coordinating the squads and carrying the operation. I will be switching my NEUTRAL vote to POSITIVE vote.

Since we are asked by the council, not to say NEUTRAL I will be switching my vote to a +1 considering I have seen you in-game multiple times and I do believe you will make for a fine CO. Good luck in getting whitelisted you will make for a fine CO.
