The downside to being a Crusher is that you move slowly if you're not charging, and you're a big, juicy target. If you find your Plasma has run out, you may struggle to escape as the Marines simply storm after you, blazing away at the massive target you represent. You also have very weak melee attacks and as such, shouldn't attempt to go in for the fight, as you will struggle to cause any real damage.

Playing a Crusher

You are the Crusher. Your task is simple - crush the enemy!

As the Crusher, you're a classic tank caste, with the ability to soak up lots of damage thanks to your hardened carapace armour which deflects a good percentage of shots fired at you.

You also have the ability to charge which uses Plasma, and effectively lets you move much quicker. With your charge verb activated, when you move, you build up momentum. The more tiles you move uninterrupted, the more momentum you build up until you hit your maximum speed, at which point you will flatten pretty much anything in your path apart from solid walls and some objects.

This is where your skill and value lies and it takes practice to understand the limitations of the ability and how best to use it. If you see the 'BONK' action appear in the chat, then whatever you have hit is unbreakable by charging, and if you hit something indestructible, you'll be stunned for a few seconds.

You also have stomp. This allows you to slam the ground with your legs and cause a shockwave that stuns Marines and knocks them to the ground. With a team of sisters supporting you, these can be attacked or dragged off to the Hive.

The downside to being a Crusher is that you move slowly when you're not charging. Also, you're a big, juicy target. Don't let your Plasma run out or you may struggle to escape as the Marines simply storm after you, blazing away. You also have very weak melee attacks and may struggle to cause any real damage.

Crusher Evolution

There is no further stages of evolution as a Crusher.... yet

Crusher Tactics

  • As a Crusher, you need to have a team of sisters behind you that can utilise the gap you're going to smash in the enemy defences. It's been seen time and time again where a Crusher can bulldoze from one end of the building and back out the other side through an entire squad of Marines and survive without a single injury. The chaos and devastation you wreak is unmatched by any other caste as what was once an impregnable FOB suddenly becomes an Alien overrun death zone. With some Hunters, Carriers and Runners following you, new hosts are easily captured.
  • A common tactic is to charge into the middle of a defensive position, stomp, then charge back out as your sisters overwhelm the stunned hosts.
  • Team up with other Crushers, pick your approach line and charge! A wall of solid muscle and anger bearing down on a Marine line is enough to send most scattering for cover.
