The USS Almayer is the third Marine Transport Ship created for 'Colonial Marines' and is the current ship being used by the Marines. it is preceded by the USS Sulaco Version 2. The USS Almayer introduced many new systems, such as a more realistic escape pod system, two dropships, a functional self-destruct system and moved away from a Supermatter based engine to a Fusion Reactor engine.
