The Union of Progressive Peoples are the rivals of the United Americas in many aspects. They're highly trained socialist soldiers, ready to fight for the UPP. And their goal is to eliminate anyone who are against the UPP.

Backstory

The Union of Progressive Peoples (U.P.P.) is a powerful socialist nation that acts as a rival of United Americas (U.A.) in the eastern sphere. However, as years go by, so does the spark of rivalry between the U.A. and U.P.P. as well, with mounting tensions between the two becoming more and more prevalent. Though the U.P.P. has never engaged in wars against the U.A. or USCM, hostilities broke out between a USCM Task Force and a U.P.P. Expeditionary Force during the Tientsin Campaign in mid 2165. It later ended in ceasefire. However, many enraged officials and commanders view this firefight as an attempt for the USCM to take control of UPP territory. 3 years after the Tientsin Campaign there is still an unstable relationship between the U.P.P and the U.A.

In 2186, for the past 14 months the 17th battalion known as the Smoldering Sons (six hundred able-bodied soldiers, strong) have been stationed at a gas giant designated MV-35 in the Anglo-Japanese Arm of the Tychon's Rift sector under the command of Colonel Ganbaatar.
MV-35's only facility, the helium refinery, Altai Station has been the only UPP-held territory in the Tychon's Rift sector for many light years, the soldiers deployed to MV-35 have spent most of their military career holed up in crammed quarters in near darkness, waiting for supply shipments and transport escort deployments.

With the recent arrival of the United States Colonial Marines battalion the 'Falling Falcons' and their flagship, the USS Almayer, the U.P.P. has felt threatened in the sector. In an effort to protect the vulnerable MV-35 from the encroaching United Americas imperialists, the leadership of your battalion has concluded that this is the best opportunity to strike the falling Falcons and catch them off guard.

Standing Orders

Your squad has been dispatched to take control of the USS Almayer by breaching in to their Command Information Center and eliminating all personnel on board the ship. To talk in your native language, include ":3" (For speaking over comms in native language use, ":h.3") when typing your messages or response. In addition to such you may call for reinforcements from their communications console when you have secured the CIC.

Union of Progressive Peoples Roles

Role	Description
UPP Standard	Enlisted or conscripted into the armed forces, these Standard UPP soldiers are the core and brunt of the UPP forces, armed and equipped with a standard Type 71 Pulse Rifle and their UM 5 Personal armour, these soldiers are a forced not to be reckoned with.
UPP Specialist	UPP Specialists are better trained and armed than their standard counterpart. Equipped with special heavy UPP armor that is capable of withstanding a significant amount of damage, and equipped with special variant of the Type 71 Pulse Rifle that has a underbarrel flamer and better accuracy, UPP Specialists are not to be taken lightly.
UPP Medic	These trained men and women have access to an array of standard issued UPP medical items akin to their USCM counterparts. Armed with their old but reliable CZ-81 Submachine gun as a quick response to any threat.
UPP Leader	The commander of the UPP force, the UPP Leader is charged with executing whatever mission the UPP have assigned the squad. They are equipped with mostly standard issue UPP equipment, though the Leader wears similar armour to the UPP Specialist.
