The Hunter is an evolution of the Runner caste, designed to go out and hunt for prey beyond the walls of the Hive. Though slower than the Runner, it boasts increased resilience and the ability to cloak itself from its enemy's sight.

The Hunter fills the role of both a fighter and an ambush predator. Able to both deal and receive respectable amounts of damage, the Hunter excels in evenly matched fights.

The Hunter's unique ability to stealth also makes it a strong ambush creature. Able to sneak up and disable unsuspecting prey, with either its claws or a facehugger, the Hunter can enact surgical strikes deeper into enemy territory than it's Runner predecessor. However, it's ability to cloak is not perfect, and thus one must always be wary of sharp-eyed foes.

* '''Leap''': This ability is identical to the same ability used by the Runner. It consumes a small amount of Plasma, upon activation you will leap towards a selected target . If you collide with a valid Human target you will stun the target, deal minor damage, and be placed ontop of the target. If you leap onto a wall, or you fail when you leap on a Human, you are stunned for several seconds.

Playing a Hunter

As a Hunter you become a far more stealth and ambushed oriented fighter than the Runner. You should be using your unique Cloak ability to hide in obscure corners and ambush alone or unsuspecting Marines. Your also far stronger and beefier than the Runner, having more health, armor and overall just a more effective fighter than a Runner ever could be, however you do move slower than a Runner.

You maintain your usage of your Pounce ability and as such you should use it to its maximum effectiveness, do note that you can pounce out of cloak and even remain in cloak while pouncing. Be wary as being in cloak will slowly drain your plasma.

While your a fantastic ambusher you are also just as good as a front line combatant, you deal a respectable amount of damage, you have a farily high disarm stun chance and you have a lot more health than a Runner.

Hunter Evolution

Once your jelly progression has advanced you gain the ability to evolve into one of two unique alien roles.

The Ravager utterly forgoes any element of stealth or capture, instead focusing on maximizing your ability to kill Marines as rapidly as possible. You also lose your pouncing ability but gain a rapid charge ability that can be used to get into combat and hit someone hard, or get out of combat.

Alternatively the Crusher forgoes most of your offensive abilities in exchange for a large health pool and near unpenetrable frontal armor, you'll even be immune to most explosives. Outside of a anti-tank SADAR round you'll be almost unkillable from the front, you also gain a unique stomp ability that can stun any Marines close to you.

Hunter Tactics

Similar tactics used by the Runner also work for the Hunter.
