S-52 Fusion Reactor
The locations of the ships fusion reactors are in upper engineering that has two small rooms for the reactors and lower engineering that has one large open space for the reactors as seen below. If you keep all the reactors on throughout the round you'll run out of fuel cells too quickly. Overall there are 12 fuel cells in upper engineering and in lower engineering overall there are 24 fuel cells.
When you first come into engineering at round start (or as a late join) you'll want to set all the reactors on to get all the smes's on each deck with 100% power stored after that has happened you can start playing around with how many reactors and smes's actually need to be on/outputting to be power efficient.
Remember that when you first fix the Reactors you can simply just click on them to start them after fixing everything as they start with fuel cells in. If you want to avoid your reactors breaking

Repairing The Reactors
If you leave the reactors and don't return to them they will break if they run out of fuel, sometimes it is a minor break other times it will take a few minutes to fix. Remember that at the start of the round the reactors already have fuel cells in them so just repair the reactors then click on them. Reactors can also break while they're producing power but this will normally only be a minor break, however if this does happen note that a new fuel cell is not required. Always examine (Shift Click) the reactors to see how much fuel is in them as when the reactors break the fuel gauge won't be powered any more so it won't display visually how much fuel is left.
Description: This is a S-52 Fusion Reactor, when it has had a minor break or you've turned off the reactor to save fuel, to re-activate it just click on it. |
Description: This is a S-52 Fusion Reactor, when it has had a minor break, to fix it use a wrench on the reactor and then click on it. |
Description: This is a S-52 Fusion Reactor, when it has had a medium sized breakdown, to fix it use wirecutters then a wrench on the reactor and then click on it. |
Description: This is a S-52 Fusion Reactor, when it has had a major sized breakdown, to fix it use a welder, wirecutters then a wrench on the reactor and then click on it. |
Refuelling The Reactors
To refuel the fusion reactors click on them with an empty hand to turn them off and then pick up a WL-6 universal fuel cell, they look like this, and click on the reactor with the WL-6 fuel cell in hand, this will eject the current fuel cell into space and replace it with the shiny new one, after that's done just click on the reactor and it'll be good to go again. Currently you can't get any more of them but you start off with a lot next to the Reactors on tables.
Note that if you click on a reactor with an empty hand and it requires fuel a message will displayed on the reactor which is:
ERROR: FUEL CELL DEPLETED. Please replace.
