The specialist is a squad's assigned support role. You have access to a variety of heavier weapons than your squadmates, and you will be expected to understand when -and when not to- deploy them. The squad's Specialist should have a greater understanding of tactics and should be able to act somewhat autonomously without command or a Squad Leader. Specialists also undergo special training, and are generally promoted from marines who show exemplary leadership and tactical skills.

The Weapons Vendor in your ready room is specific to you, it will not work without your ID in its slot. When you first look at it, ensure that you vend the coin that it contains: This is how you dispense the weapon of your choice. The vendor contains the following:
 
* M42C Scout Rifle,
 
* M92 Grenade Launcher,
 
* M83 SADAR with HE or AP rockets,
 
* M56 Smart gun
 
* M240 Incineration launcher.
 
* High Tech Personal Combat Armour.
