| The '''Union of Progressive Peoples''' are the rivals of the United Americas in many aspects. They're highly trained socialist soldiers, ready to fight for the UPP. And their goal is to eliminate anyone who are against the UPP.

| =Backstory=
| |
| | |
| The Union of Progressive Peoples is a powerful, socialist nation act as a rival nation of the UA in the eastern sphere, they're large in numbers and active over their frontier before the Tientsin (Eta Boötis A III) campaign. However, as years go by, so do the spark of rivalry of the UA and UPP as well. Though the UPP never engaged in wars against the UA or USCM, hostiles broke out between an USCM Task Force and a UPP Expeditionary Force during the Tientsin Campaign in mid 2165. It later ended in ceasefire. However, many enraged officials and commanders view this firefight as an attempt for the USCM to take over the UPP territory. 3 years after the Tientsin Campaign, Colonel Ganbaatar, a Commander of the UPP forces stated (in the above quote) that if the USCM takes over their territory, they will wage war against them. And from this point on, the UPP declared the UA and USCM as enemies against eachother. Sparking hatred between them and the UA.

| Years after the campaign, in 2186, for the past 14 months, the battalion known as the Smoldering Sons have been stationed at MV-35's only facility, the helium refinery, Altai Station.

| As MV-35 and Altai Station are the only UPP-held zones in the Tychon's Rift sector for many light years, they have spent the most of their military career holed up in crammed quarters in near darkness, waiting for supply shipments and transport escort deployments.

Equipped with special heavy UPP armor that is capable of withstanding a significant amount of damage, and equipped with special variant of the Type 71 Pulse Rifle that has a underbarrel flamer and better accuracy, UPP Specialists are not to be taken lightly.
