History

The UNISC was formed by the core members of the United Nations, namely the USA, the European Union, Russia, India, Japan, and the Central Confederation of Africa, to which all three main powers (now being the United Americas, Three World Empire, and even the UPP) are still signatories and abide by its rules. The organization was originally known as the United Nations Interplanetary Corps, reflecting its jurisdiction within the Sol System and over the near-Earth colonies. However, as mankind began reaching ever further into deep space and establishing numerous extrasolar colonies, the organization's remit was similarity expanded to involve the policing and provision of security for these distant settlements. As such, by 2117, it had been renamed the United Nations Interstellar Settlement Corps to reflect its expanded role.
