To some, the Colonial Liberation Front (Also known as Free Colonist) are the militia to keep the peace, to others they're rebels who oppose the USCM in the Tychon's Rift Sector. As a member of the CLF you fight for freedom against the United Americas, who foolishly believe that your homes belong to them.

An increasingly powerful rebellion of angry colonists and extremists. The CLF have taken up arms against the USCM over fears that the government is no longer able to keep them safe. Particularly angry over the suppression of worker strikes, liberal application of force against them in the past, and the increasing disappearance and loss of colonies from various hostiles, many of these homegrown terrorists and freedom fighters seek to cause as much destruction and mayhem as possible. In just a year since their original creation, they have exploded in size. Exact numbers are unclear, but it is rumored they now surpass the 150,000 active members of the USCM in quantity.

The Colonial Liberation Front or Free Colonist (approx. one-hundred and fifty-thousand fighters, active) were formed due to massive dislike towards the United Americas government and the USCM forces, and the perceived lack of the USCM in being able to protect the frontier from pirates and other threats, and for a time the frontier felt a degree of safety and security due to the lack of any USCM presence.

The first whispers of colonial liberation began during the aftermath of the Sol Campaign, new colonial policy had been levied onto colonial governments across all holdings in the UA. The belief of a 'red uprising' far from Sol and out of the reach of UA armies had pushed for the passage of the 'Anti-Colonial Insurgency Act of 2161' which curtailed much of the authority of colonial politicians and limited the number of weapons and supplies sent to colonies in order to prevent stockpiling of equipment which played a major role in the Mars Militia's prolonged success. The result of the act however led to colonies being exposed to wild-life due to a lack of weaponry to defend themselves, also when disease struck it was not uncommon for a large portion of the population to die due to lacking of medical supplies limited due to the act.

In 2181, the situation changed as the United Americas moved the USCM Battalion, the 'Dust Raiders', and their flagship the USS Alistoun, to the sector.

There was a decent amount of death and hardship, even when the Dust Raiders were in the Tychon Rift Sector, and as such the CLF feel the USCM can't protect them. In this regard some could call them a militia that protects their neighbouring colonies, however they also want to fight for their freedom, so they're a rebel group in that regard. Previously there was an armed insurgency against the Dust Raiders, including a suicide attack by a Cargo Freighter called the USCSS Corrinus that collided with the USS Alistoun killing a handful of Dust Raider marines along with rupturing the cyro-storage section and damaging the engines, most likely by a more radical element according to sources at the time. As a direct result of these events, the Dust Raiders used bombardments and other aggressive methods to try and quell the insurgency and restore order, however this led to a high civilian casualty rate.

Eventually by the end of 2181, the Dust Raiders, with their flagship the USS Alistoun, withdrew from the sector, with many colonists considering themselves free from governmental rule.

Nine years later, in 2190, the arrival of the USCM Battalion, the 'Falling Falcons', and their flagship, the USS Almayer, have reaffirmed that the United Americas considers Tychon's Rift part of their holdings.

It is up to the CLF to make them realize that they are trespassers, that the sector is no longer theirs and so far they have been overwhelmingly successful in their guerrilla campaign.

Standard

Role	Description
Fighter	The standard soldier in the CLF movement. Primarily recruited from the colony population and consist of various roles such as mere janitors, desk-workers, garbage-haulers, and even miners the front-line forces of the CLF movement severely lack proper military training and are forced to make use of basic instinct and what they have on hand. However, what they lack in combat is fiercely made up for with their hearts for the cause.
Mechanic	The technicians, the CLF trained engineers primarily consist of colonists who have worked as colony generator engineers and minor maintenance technicians. Lacking in most basic equipment compared to most militaries, the engineer trained are forced to utilize creativity to create shoddy weaponry to fight back against the USCM such as outdated rifles, molotovs, and dangerous stun-prods.
Paramedic	The medical personal of the CLF movement. Mainly consisting of colony doctors and nurses, the CLF medics are the triage for the fighters against the USCM tyranny. They are the grease and oil that ensures the fighting machine of the CLF dues not rust and grind.
Gunner	The tactical soldiers of the CLF movement, the specially trained consist primarily of colonial marshals who have turned against their own beliefs and chose to side with the CLF. They possess greater weapons skills then that of a standard soldier in the movement and through intense training have been able to learn and make use of heavy weaponry not available to most standards on the frontline.
Cell Leader	The Local Leader is the brains and strategist of the local CLF cell's movement. Usually the leader is an individual who once served in the position of a colonial government or in a higher rank of a specific department on a colony. Highly looked upon by their followers the local leader coordinates the insurrection against the USCM, outgunned and outmatched they hold their ground believing that colonial freedom is worth every sacrifice.

UPP	The CLF hold an aggressive stance against the UPP as they are openly opposed to any major power that may try to bring them under heel. However, various cells of the CLF maintain secret ties with UPP special forces who engage in smuggling weapons and military training of guerilla forces to fight the USCM.

USCM	The CLF is openly engaged in a war of liberation against the USCM in Tychon's Rift Sector. Firmly against the USCM harsh treatment of colonies and the UA's failure to address the worries of the health, safety, and security of the colonies the CLF is dedicated to expelling the marines from the sector and establishing independence.
